3, but dozens of arrows :D
4 with a 5th bow to soon be in the mix. :D
Bill
9 of them own me ! usually try to only shoot one at a time !
Blush....too many. I feel spoiled. However there is a saying..."Beware the archer with only one bow...chances are he/she is really good with it."
I have 3 and am building a 4th!!!
I have 8 and have had as many as 25 at once and have owned over 120 in the last 12-13 years. I agree with Dina though and I have been shooting only one bow for two years, I just recieved a new one and it has the same grip as my go to bow and is by the same bowyer so I think they will be interchangable. Shawn
I think 9, nope 10. Forgot about the Shakespeare in the basement. Luckily I sold 2 last week. I wouldn't want to be the Guy with the most. ( Must buy more Bows I wouldn't want to be the Guy with the least ) LOL. Have fun counting Everyone!!! bretto

Danny
I can't keep track!
One I think. Two if my son has decided not to take over my old one (since my Hill arrived) but I'm virtually certain he has. :-D
2. My current shooter and my old Bear Black Bear, the first trad bow I bought, it was made the same year as me.... I'll most likely never get rid of it, it's not worth much, it shoots well, and well, it's my first. But all others are fair game. I've either bought, sold, traded or given away.... maybe 10 others over the last ten years or so.
Mike
hey killie you had better send some of there off spring to me i need more bows to try out :biglaugh: oh yeah i have 5 and i hope one to come.

I don't know. That is kind of scary. It's more than 50 and less than a hundred (I think). Time to do a detailed inventory. If you ask me specifically, "do you have a ______" I can tell you. If you wanted me to list them, I don't know that I can. Bow collecting is a disease! CKruse
25-30...I think.
jus 3, but i only list m main bow
This is Not a Place I need to be  Doc
4, two longbows, two recurves
John
12, I like to buy myself a gift every year!
8 Recurves, 9 longbows....
Gave away another 5 or so recurves and one longbow to friends to get them started.
I just went and counted my bow racks.
As of today-- Eleven bows.
Some (3-4) are "go to" bows. The rest are sentimental. My parents gave me back 30 years later my very first recurve that my Dad bought for me as a kid.
John III
Five with a mint Damon Howatt Balboa on the way.Mike..

Killy, I like it in closets! I have learned to stick with bows grips as opposed to bows. If I find one that the grip is perfect for me I keep it! Shawn
:bigsmyl:
I had to go count, that may not be good!!! but right now 20 trad, recurves, longbows, homemade and selfbows. One compound that I haven't shot in 18 months. Is that to many, I think not, lol.
2 of the best !
And they are both Whisperstik's
Carl
C'mon Doc! I heard your house was MADE out of old bows!!! :bigsmyl:
I feel like I am slacking as I only own one. The one I have works great for me so why not stick with it. I like to hold, look at, and shoot others but really havent thought about buying another one.

1 Mikuta longbow
3 1960's Bear recurves
(BTW Killy, Please send me 2 of your "breeding" coat hangeers. Every time I go to put my wife's laundry away, the hangers are all gone)
Right now I have 3, but I have bought and sold 10 or so in the last several years.
I love my new Great Plains Palo Duro 50#recurve.
It's probably the smoothest bow I've ever shot
(tied with a Habu).I look forward to hunting with it.
My go to bow is a Martin Hatfield recurve.
I also own a Don Dow Stikbow which I really like but don't shoot often enough.
My first was a Bear Black Bear that I bought in 1981. It survived a fire and will never be sold. My brother shoots it now.
Five here
Nine for now hope to have more in the future.
34 including 4 Robertson buffalo bows, 4 JD Berry bows 5 Bear recurves, 2 Wing recurves, 1 Shrew and assorted others
I had to go in the basement to check. I didn't know there were 12. It doesn't look so bad when you break it down...and, I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't take drugs, I don't gamble, I don't run around. Case closed!
2 from the same bowyer that I shoot all the time.
2 others I shoot sometimes.
2 others I used to shoot.
1 of my old recurves from when I was 15 yrs. old
1 for my wife
1 for my son
1 for my daughter
1 to teach kids
1 for decoration only (damaged)
One longbow Ill keep because of who had it made for me (it mostly sits on the rack) and now a DAS, and hopefully a tradtech. I bought and sold well over 30 bows in the last 6 years or so.
4, They are listed below.
Bill
2 and there listed below...but I have another Kota Kill-um on orders as of Friday.
Going to be Curly Myrtle limbs with a Cocobolo handle, but I have to wait to December. I'm thinking about it as a Christmas present.
Then again there always seems to be a bunch of bows listed in the classifieds so I may get one of those.

64,65 and 59 Kodiaks
19 AND 2 ON THE WAY. Scratch the 2 one just arrived 1 on the way
my house is not built of old bows, as someone here alleged (:^) I just gave a rough estimate way back, but since the thread has gone on and gotten specific, here you go with an actual list:
Black Widow MAIII
Black Widow PSA
Black Widow Longbow
Black Widow (Wilson Bros.) Target bow
3 Bear Super Kodiaks
Bear Grizzly
Bear Kodiak Hunter
Bear Kodiak Magnum
Bear Tamerlane target bow
Bear Magnesium B riser/limbs
Howard Hill Longbowman's Choice
Howard Hill Ol' 3 Toes
Howard Hill Wesley Special
Howard Hill Redman Classic (blank in progress)
2 Wing Falcons
Wing Presentation II target bow
Super Cheetah target bow
Trad Tech Titan (6 limb sets)
Belcher Lady Longhorn longbow

Martin Hi-Speed
Toelke TD recurve/2 sets limbs
Treadway Longbow
Root vintage longbow

Pearson Signature TD
Bob Lee BiCentennial longbow
That's 34 bows, but 5 of them are on the block:

Toelke recurve
Wing Falcon
so I'm actually under 30... and I feel no guilt... when I was collecting treadle sewing machines, I once had 175! The bows are much easier to handle and store...
Dick in Seattle
I just start the "Trad" thing in October 07 and have 3. Your lists are causing me to wonder what I have gotten myself into this time. Fortunately I'm into bartering so it hasn't hit the pocketbook. Loving this thread though.
Quinn
I feel like a piker here. I only have four in the stable right now: A Bear 76'er, an old fiberglass/aluminum takedown youth bow made for the Boy Scouts, and two 35# Brownings, a Prep and a Rover. My hunting bows were traded away a few years ago when arthritis made it impossible for me to hunt any more. Gone are my Damon Howatt Hunter, Kodiak Hunter, and Browning Nomad. I have owned longbows in the far distant past, and would like to find another one to relive youthful flatbow pleasures; but at the prices charged for simple bows these days, it's hard for a retired guy on short rations to justify the expense. I haunt yard sales, looking for an old flatbow to refurbish. Can't pull much more than a 35 pounder these days, so my hopes are slim and none on finding such. Still, it gives me something to wish for.
Hey Dick, WILL YOU ADOPT ME???
Hi All,
I have three bows....a Ben Person my dad bought for me when I was 12 years old...my first bow; a Bear Kodiak Magnum....my first serious hunting bow (age 22)...now retired due to damage; and a Tomahawk, 62", 50# @ 28", purchased a couple of years ago (age 56) to replace my Kodiak.
Well... let's see. I have a RH and a LH 1968 Red Wing Hunter (LH was my Dad's, RH he got for me the year I was born). I have a 1968 Bear Kodiak Hunter with what I think they call the C handle, I have a DH Hunter (early '70's?), and a realy old Black Widow "Moth" from when the Wilson Bros. were still in Springfield, MO. These of course are all recurves.
I also have a Martin ML-10 longbow, and several hickory backed, rawhide backed and self longbows (5 total) that I have made. Guess that is 11 all told. I'm not a collector or anything, I just have a hard time turning loose of a bow once I get it.
OkKeith
2 with 1 on the way!
This thread is great, can see the addiction though!!
:clapper: :biglaugh:
Just sold two(right Zenzele? :D ) so now I'm down to 4, Zipper Extreme, Marriah Thermal, TimberGhost recurves and a Zipstick longbow. Just don't ask me how many sets of limbs I have...
I've only been trad shooting since May 2007 and I already have 4. I tend to go overboard when I really enjoy something.
30 plus, some are antiques and wall hangers, most are shooters and are bows I have made over the years. A few are custom longbows and recurves. I'm still making bows, I can't seem to stop.

I also get a kick out of what people say are customs and production. Compared to how the Morrison, Widows, RERs and a whole host of others the older Bears and Pearsons took more hands on work with todays CNC machines and tools. A wood and fiberglass bow is a bow is a bow is a bow, period. Shawn

At this point, i only own 17 bows. That is down from i believe 25 at one time. Of course, that does not even compare to my cousin's owning 103 in 2002. L.
Do you know that this thread started in July last year? That means most guys that have responded need to start counting all over again. The numbers change!! :biglaugh:
I didn't go through the thread to see if I answered or not before, but as of this date my number is eight. (And subject to change)

Looks like I have 10 at the moment soon to be 11 on Friday. I've listed them in the order I acquired them. I've moved two Sky recurves, a Mathews Heritage Recurve, and a Fox High Sierra this year. I may do a mass reduction when the Silvertip arrives in April. I would rather own 3-4 bows than 12 (2 hunting and 1 lighter for limbering up). I can see owning a tree stand, ground blind, and back-up for each. Of course I also need a carp bow....you see how difficult it is to thin the ranks.

Blacktail Snakebit TD due in May
One les than enough.
I forgot, due to leads provided by folks here at Trad Gang (Jeremy) I have a set of Rose Oak Bear TD limbs built and to be shipped with my Super Wildcat at week's end. If these Rose Oak limbs live up to their reputation I'll be moving two sets of Bear-made TD limbs.

I only have one. It would be nice to have a backup, maybe someday when finances are better.
I'd never post a number where my wife might see it. She sees them come and go, never asks how many but occssionally will ask if that one is a keeper or trader and I always answer that they all have a price.

He said " I shoot recurves".

He finally smiled and said, " I shoot 70 lbs".

By my standard not enough (34), by my wifes standard way too many (any number greater than 1)!
I never counted them before, but now that I have I think my wife may be right!
Four; I have an Indian Archery wood/glass 43@29.5, Chekmate Kings Pawn 65@30, Hoyt/WW ILF 48@29.5, and a no name long bow wood that i havent shot since 1974.
I think I have 23 right now with these on order as well:
Griffin TD 59'r, Kemp Kwick Stick, Checkmate Hunter III, & Blackcreek TDR. I just read my previous post to this thread back in 7/08 "I have 9, trying to stay under 10". Guess I fell off the wagon & need an intervention!! : )
Three soon to be four. Super Shrew longbow, Talon longbow and a Chekmate hunter recurve. Looking at another longbow, probably a take down for easier travelling.
