I am looking for nocks for aluminum shafts (2013's specifically), that have a wider "gap" to fit my flemish strings looser than the nocks I have used so far. The few nocks I have used are very tight fitting on all my bows. I would like to know if anyone has suggestions for nocks that will fit loosely without all the filing I have performed in the past. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Skychief.

Does your 2013's have uni-bushing's? For uni-bushing systems I like Easton 3D Super nocks,they have the widest and deepest throat of those types of nocks.If your arrows use glue-on nocks I like Bohning Classic nocks they have a bigger throat.What is your string and serving you are using?

Pick a nock that you like and then have the string resized to fit....

Like JRY309 said, Bohning Classics are fairly open, much more so than say a snap nock.

I just dip them in a pan of hot to simmering water.. Pop them on the string, and twist a bit back and forth, then dunk them in cold water.. If you get them a bit loose, back to the hot water and pinch them closed a bit. About three tries and you'll get them hanging on and falling with a light tap, first time out.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am talking about uni-bushings where the nocks can be rotated. I can't say for sure what kind of nocks I have tried, just what the local archery shop had in stock. About dipping nocks in hot water to resize them....does this hurt the integrity of the plastic at all? I would think a hot treatment followed by a cold water dunking might make them a little more brittle. Thanks again, Skychief.

I use hot water to resize my nocks as well and the only time they seem to break is when I hit one with the next arrowhead (so they're pretty safe :-D ).

I use a heavier braided serving on all my strings. You may want to go back to mono....Most 5/16 nocks will fit loose with mono serving or shop around for speed nocks...

hot water and resize ya nocks its a lot cheaper plus ya can get a real nice fit on ya string

There is a reason the call it thermoplastic.. By definition it can be remelted and reused. Most plastics can be reground and reprocessed several times without degrading them.. . Most process in excess of 300 degrees, so a little warming in hot water isn't going to hurt them.. Dunking in cold water won't either but really only speeds the cooling process,, You can let them air cool if you want.. Definitely doesn't stress them as much as sand paper or a file, where you are actually removing material and introducing stress risers with machining marks..
Ultra violet will degrade them in time, but most new arrows being shot regularly won't live that long.. It's a good idea to renock any old arrows you get before shooting them, as most are degraded and will fail on the string
