Title: How long in laminating box?
Post by: Bradley Holley on July 17, 2008, 09:54:00 AM
I just finished my laminating box and I'm getting ready to try my first bamboo backed hickory bow. I checked my box with a thermometer and it is holding steady at 152.5 degrees. How long should I leave the bow in to dry. I will probably be using BowGrip100.

I just realized I posted this in the wrong section. Oh well, maybe you'll see it anyway.

Probably 4-5 hours should do it.  I've only used bow grip once and cured it at 180 for 3 hours.  It is very thin epoxy and ran everywhere, but seems to be holding fine.

Thanks for the info, Apex. I have some Titebond2 also but I don't know if that would be good or not.

Titebond would be alot easier to work with.  I have used it alot and it works fine for boo backs.

I'd go with a the wood glue also, since you are glueing wood and grass (bamboo) together.
