I finally got my Javilina mount back. This is the one I got with my Cheyene with Curtis Keller in December. Boy did it turn out nice.

Honey, I thought that was what Africa is costing me. LOL
It is a year and a half before Africa, there are many many many things that will cost you between now and then....
Actually it is 2 years before Africa,June 2010. Sorry bro,LOL.
Danny
Great! I will be hunting them come February in Texas-can't wait!
Where are you going in Texas Curveman? We have some great hunting down there.
Great lookin' mount! I don't know much about them javelina, but that sure looks like a pretty toothy specimin!
Man that thing looks great, that is one of my dream hunts on my list but I got to wait till the kids are on their own first.
T
Baron, they do not get very big, around 40 lbs is average with some over 60 lbs, but they run in packs and when you get among them and they start popping their teeth at you, the old heart gets to pounding and you wonder what the hell you are doing, cause most places where they are do not have a tree worth climbing and this old man don't run so fast anymore. They bite and can cause some damage. But, boy are they fun to stalk.
T folts,
We have a lot of them in west and south Texas and not a real expensive hunt. Check with Curtis Keller ( Littlefeather) he has some very affordable hunts, and you will not find a better man to go on a hunt with. First class all the way.
where's the apple? LOL. man that mouth is wide open. can they do that? our pigs wouldn't be able to do that. they make an attractive mount.
That looks great! I've been wanting to hunt javis for years. Maybe '09!!
ozy clint,
Javalinas are not pigs. They are not related to swine. More along the lines of a South American Taiper. Piggy looking snout, but not a pig. Yes, they can open their mouths that wide.
You all know that even though I give Donald heck at times that I am so in love with this man. God blessed me with Donald and I want to be the kind of wife he can be proud of. Donald is the most amazing husband, he is kind caring and compssionate and my needs to matter (well except when he is hunting) LOL
I love you my husband Donald
WOW! The taxidermist did a really great job on the Javi's looks. Howz he smell? LOL!
Glad to see you had his mounted. That is a great memory I have of you standing and waiting patiently for him to turn perfectly broadside. Good stuff! CK
Curtis,
Thanks, I loved that hunt with you and can not wait for another. Remember to keep me posted on an Axis hunt. Also if you are doing anymore hunts on the Odessa ranch I would love to go back there.
I love the job the taxidermist did. The javi is a little musky smelling if you get right up on him, but not a bad smell. LOL.
If you do a dvd of hunts and mine is on it I would love to have one for memories.
Very nice!!!
Yep they're mean little suckers.
Once on a bet when I was young and stupid I sneaked up to one and slapped him on the butt...I had NO IDEA I could run that fast!
Great looking mount! very nice congrats!
thanks everyone.
Donald
