I am looking for some new arrows, for a new bow !
Whisperstik 58" 47# @ 29"
I've heard a lot about grizzly sticks, and some fellas have shot and really like carbon express. I know that the whisperstiks like a heavier and stiffer arrow.
Can you fill me in on some advice, I sure would appreciate.
Thanks in advance
Pastor Carl
Arrow Dynamics, more versatile arrow than those two in my opinion.
But if you are only going to pick one of those two choices then I would say grizzly sticks.
I have a 62" 47#@28 ACS/CX and I shoot the Sitkas cut at 28-3/4" with a 260gr BH and the brass inserts. Fly like a dart, and good penetration. Duane
No question cx 150 with 100gr brass inserts cut to 30" or 31" they will weigh 9 or 10 gr lb depending what droadhead weight you put out front oh yea! I almost forgot you will have extreme FOC what a combo good luk shoot carbon express if you want the best the others dont even come close to cx arrows good luck
Can't go wrong with Carbon Express.
I shoot the CX's and love them. I can shoot my 150's out of both of my longbows( 45# and 52#) just by changing insert weight. They're also as tough as any arrow I've ever shot off of any bow.
I have been shooting axis 500's, and I think they're OK for my 43# @ 29" I have two wraps on them, and 125 gr tip, total arrow wt. 435 gr.
The JD told me the whisperstik like a stiffer arrow so I was going to purchase a carbon express 250 bare shaft, only can get a dozen, so I waited to get advice. I wasn't sure if it should be 150 carbon express. The 150 seem to light. For the 47# @ 29" but that's just my worry, not from experience.
Thanks
Carl
I shoot the 150s out of my recurves form 51-54#s. I draw 28.5"s and cut them 29.5" and use 175 grains up front, you will need at least 225 front and a 30" arrow. Shawn
I vote for Grizzlies! I love mine, but have never shot Sitkas.
Sorry to hijack the thread....
Which CE Heritage would ya'll suggest for a 44 # recurve and 27" draw?
You might want to go to your local wal-mart, they are starting to get in their fall archery stuff. Our local one has the wolverine arrows, made by CX, for $3.69 each, just buy a few, cut to length, refletch and see if you like them. They have the reg CX and the wolverines which are about 11Gpi weight. I have shot them for years, several of my buddies, tough, heavy fly great and kill deer, what elsed do you want. Sam.
I talked to Paul today, and he gave me some advice on my axis 500's, he told me he was five to six weeks out on making new arrows. That only tells me he's really good at what he does, hand is in high demand.
But I am going to take his advice and give it a try. But I think, later on I am going to order soom arrows from him. He was interested in solving my problem, not just selling me something. That's a person of character.
Way to go Paul :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:

samuel,
I looked at the Wolverines, their only 29 in., and it's too short for my draw. I was going to buy just one to see how would work out, but I really thought it was too short. Too close for the Broadhead. But thanks for that tip.
