Traditional Archery seems to me to be much more family orientated. Seeing pictures and posts of families from the smallest to grandparents is really great.

In my opinion the wheelie guys are missing out on so much quality time and lots and lots of fun.
Keep it up Trad Gangers!!!!!!!!!!1
I be a Trad Ganger and "wheelie" shooter, (some places I hunt the owner does not allow traditional gear)....and I spend lots of time with the family.
Why does he not allow traditional gear?

Why doest he allow trad gear stick_string?
I've had the chance to hunt places where the owner wanted to dictate "how" I hunted and with what gear. I just politely thanked him for his time and went to hunt somewhere else.

My daughter has commandeered two of my longbows. A Maddog and a Treadway plus she has her on Mikuta that she's really grown out of. One of my boys has started on a cheap fiberglass kid bow. At least he's a southpaw so he can't steal mine when he' bigger. :p Plus in a few years I will be able to buy some of those beautiful lefties I always see in the classifieds (never could think of a good reason before). I'm glad my kids are into archery and hope they stay that way. They have friends that play every sport imaginable and there always seems to be issues involved. We live a happy, uncomplicate life, complete with backyard range.
well alot of people have experiences with guys that wanna use trad gear but don't wanna put the time into it to master.
You know I used to work at a golf course. And they didn't like just anyone playing. They'd kick some people off. It's a narrow course surrounded by million dollar mansions. They don't want a guy breaking windows or worse. It was nothing personal. They even let the grounds crew play for free anytime they want and its a course that costs 30k in membership fees to join.
I can see where a guy who has seen some trad arrow flingers decide he wants guys with wheels and pins on his property instead. I wouldn't take it as malicious. I've seen wheel shooters decide they want to take does with their recurve to make it more exciting. Even though they hardly shoot it. And trad archery isn't like that.

I concure Gingivitis.
I can also see where that landowner is coming from. Up until recently I pretty much only shot by myself and did not see alot of other trad guys shoot. I have been to a couple of shoots and shot the courses with guys I met there and tagged along. Now, I just want to say that I am no expert and I am not an "awsome shot" but the guys I shot with were horrible. Broken arrows and misses measured in feet and every target were the norm. My point is that if that landowner ran into some one like that he has a reason to be skeptical.
My two boys with home made oak long bow 54" and about 14lbs @ 18"

I'm not so sure about that. It seems every time I go to a 3D shoot there are lots of families on the course -- moms, dads, kids, grandparents etc. Most of them shoot comounds.
When I was a teenager I was introdused to compound archery. After my son started shooting a compound my wife picked up the sport. We shot compounds as a family. We had alot of fun and spent some quality time together.
Now we shoot traditional archey and still having a blast as a family.
i dont think matters who shoots what me and my brothers shoot trad quite a bit but both of my boys shoot wheels and they are realy good and heck i even take my wheelie out every now and then to shoot against them usally get beat thou i dont think that does not make me a trad hunter thou i just like spending time with them and man does it go fast dont realy see them alot any more so i enjoy when i do shooting what ever
