Title: REfinished arrows
Post by: texas terror on July 07, 2008, 08:38:00 PM
I was wondering how many of yall refinish arrows. I havd about a half of dozen that seem to have lost their seal and stain from being out side. they are broken thinking about refinishing them and cutting to fit a kids bow. what im asking would it be ok as long as the shafts are not split, and how would i finish stripping the previous seal.

A commercial paint and varnish stripper will take the finish off and take out most but not all of the stain color.  Given that kids arrows usually don't last too long, refinishing might be more work than necessary.  Perhaps just cutting to size and refletching if necessary would do it.
