ttt for some more deer.
Not sure if this constitutes a "big" but it's my best with trad gear. Shot him first day of our Kentucky bow season this past year. I have several trail cam picts of him and was hoping to get him still in his velvet. He shed it the day before I shot him for I have picts of him two days before with it in tack. Bow was my SA III Widow with a 4 blade magnus 100 grain head a 3555 Gold tip with a 50 grain brass insert. Hit was high lung at 27 paces. He went about 150 yards.
Also here are a few more I've taken with trad gear.

Keep 'em coming, guys. It's great to see the trophys that our "gangers" have harvested :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Ok I am not sure if this is my 1000th post of my 2003 buck or 1001 but what the heck I can't help myself I am still proud of him. Obviously it is the same buck from my avatar. Shot him with a Robertson Vision Falcon an Easton 2117 and a Magnus 125 gr 2 blade. 12 yd shot while he had his head in a mock scrape I made near my treestand.

its my biggest to date. I shot him with a 58# custom recurve that a buddy made me. It was a four yard shot slightly quartering too. I hit him in front of the left shoulder and it emptied out in the middle of the right shoulder. He went about 50 yards and laid down and never got up.
Great deer everyone.
Bohuntr did you get that one in SD?
Great deer everyone!!! Congrats on your fine trophy's!!!
Dan, no worries I've seen it multiple times and I still think its awesome. Great job.
T.J.
Heck, I'm already wanting to see it again. Fantastic deer.
Trap
This guy is still running around and I have a plan!
My plan on this guy took four years to work. My best buck..152 7/8 PY....shot him in 1990.
My only buck with the recurve but the most memorable animal I ever harvested. It took me about seven years to get this fellow.

Those are Ohio deer. It's been a little tougher to find ones like those in the Black hills. Nice film job on the texas deer! I filmed some of my own hunts on my video. It's pretty easy at water holes and turkey but Whitetail can be really tough to do your own. Gotta shoot em twice.
Nice deer Biggie. Esp that 2 pt that scores 8 green. You've been hunting outside of GA. Haven't you. :)
You know it Doug, one of the 1st things I ever learned about big bucks is you gotta go where they are :-)
Can't take credit for the "2 point" look at that face again.

My first Trad-Buck. Schafer silvertip 55@27 3555 gold tips, 50 grain incert 125 Razorcaps. Shot him at 27 steps. He ran 150, give or take. (http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z166/Traditional-Archer/IMGA0040.jpg)
Man, Guru,
You have those stacked up in a barrel to shoot!??!? Those are dangerous bucks...meaning I'd fall out of the tree.
Here's my best to date last December. Arrowed the doe then 4 minutes later the buck followed her exact trail, nose to the ground and took an arrow within a yard of the arrow that just passed through her. In our part of Georgia deer were stocked from the barrier islands on the coast...i.e. small bodied. This is a 3.5 to 4.5 year old buck with a live weight just shy of 150. Steve

Biggie...those two are so hard to tell apart in their younger days...I'm going with my favorite (don't tell Gene ;) )...I think it is Barry in Vermont.
Got it Biggie. That's young!
Congrats Trad archer on your first, heck of alot bigger than my first.
All nice deer. Good to see these trad deer. Knowing what it takes to make it happen.
Guru is that second from the last in Nebraska?
Not a big buck in any ones book, but It is my First Buck with a Trad Bow a Original 54" Shrew 52#@26" used a 60-65# Ash shaft with 3-5.5" nana's topped w/160 grn Snuffer....15 yards (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/mysticguido/1stbuck.jpg)

BMN, nice deer for the Ozarks...that's some tuff terrain eh?
a keeper for me ! ... 15 yd shot quartering away, 63lb widow PSAII 2216 w/ zwickey delta 4 bld.

Yeah Biggie, it is some very tuff terrian!! Luckily this was one of the few that stayed on top of the ridge. Most die or fall to the bottom and make for some very long and exhausting drags.

Very inspirational thread guys.
Dell, I'd hate to see what you consider a monster !can I come shoot some of your cull bucks ? Ontario, I agree with Big Ron , a 5 1/2 year old deer is a trophy does'nt matter his size.

Gun...
Kudos!
Kev
Anyone who hunts in a winter climate like that gets my vote. Nice going Gun.
Gotta love the sense of humour from the Kansas, Illinois and Alberta bunch..."not monsters, but..." They'd be state records in Georgia. Of course we don't have to hunt them in 20 below, either!
OLDWAY!
Holy CR@#$&! Those are SLAMMERS!

great deer.....heck it looks like 30" in the picture....congrats
geez that looks more than 22. awesome deer
Hay Curtis(SouthMDShooter). I have to agree with you, that does look wider than 22" and that is an awesome deer. However, the two you took in WV are also great. Keep up the good work. Oh, by the way, if the pictures in this post don't get your blood pumping your not a red blooded TradGanger. Good hunting and Keep'um sharp. :notworthy:

I know he is not a WT but this bull was taken on my trip to AK on an outfitted/unguided hunt. I am pretty proud of him and how I did it. He is no giant but a trophy to me.

Bill
I have worn this picture out posting it but here goes again.
I shot him with a 62# osage bow I made, wood arrow I made and a store bought Zwickey delta broadhead. The best part is I shot him off the ground from a home made, natural brush ground blind. The shot distance was about 5 yds. He didn't know I was in the country and walked right through a tight funnel I built my blind close to.
Great job, Eric. I never tire of seeing your deer and hearing the story. Hope you are just as successful this year.

If I was to even see a deer on the land we hunt that has the size racks that you have killed, I would be blown away. But to kill one let alone several with trad gear is unbelievable. I need to move to the midwest. :D
Flatstick,
I'm with upatree, Any one of those deer would be a true trophy where I hunt. Congrats on so many nice deer with trad gear. Let me know if you ever need a new hunting partner. I'm always up for a road trip. :goldtooth:
I'll tell you what, those are true trophies where Flatstick hunts too. To top it off he shot them all with home made gear.....Man, that is impressive! Rick.
Holy Cow Flatstick! I'm directly east of Terre Haute. On the opposite side of the state. I don't think we have many bucks like that over here!
Not my biggest, but it is most recent. Shot this guy last night on our third day of the season(9/17) in eastern Nebraska at 10 yards with the 'Green Machine' Pronghorn TD Longbow and Woodsman head. I have his right side sheds from '06 and '07; he made a quantum leap in size this year, adding approximately 26". I believe he is 4.5 years old.

That's a good'n Irish ! Looks like he had a pretty big body too with a big block head like that.
b.,,,I live on the far west side of the state. I hunt both IN & IL but I have to say that since IN came out with the "one buck rule" our number of mature bucks has GREATLY improved! I can sit on the front porch and watch a couple of good bucks now,,it hasn't been that way for at least 20yrs around here.
Thanks to everyone for posting their pics, I can never see too many of them, especially with trad gear. Nothing against other equipment! ;) :saywhat:
Warybuck you are a killin machine! I wanna be like you when I grow up.
Bryce, you have been on fire the last few seasons. You have really figured out the pieces to the puzzle lately. I new you would be on here with another fine whitetail this season. Congrats. Now come over here and teach me what to do!
Here's my boy from last year one more time. 152 5/8" taken with a 66# Bighorn and Ribtek 160.

Less than two weeks 'til we're after them again!
Took up Trad in 2005.
Here are 2005,2006 and 2007. I don't think any of them qualify for "big" but are the ones I'm most proud of, simply because of how they were taken. Bowhunting with trad gear is like starting all over again.
