Title: using Cherry wood for handles
Post by: Traditionalfirst on June 30, 2008, 10:27:00 AM
I have a question, is cherry good enough to use in the fades of a laminated bow? I have some that is 1" thick x6"x48",may use some in an all wood longbow also. What do you fellers think?

I use cherry all the time to make long and flat bows and benefits from a light backing like linen. If the wood is quarter sawn you should have no problems with the fades

Thank you, yes it is quarter sawn. I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.
