Title: Bear Montana
Post by: Bakes168 on June 29, 2008, 11:09:00 PM
I'm thinking about buying a Bear Montana Longbow in #55 for this fall as my first really serious hunting trad bow.
I've only heard good things about it and would like to hear what you guys who own it think.

Also some pics would be really great  :) .
Thanks
Bakes

I have good things to say about my montana.
I've been doing minor mods to it ever since I got it and its really shooting straight. I love it.

The two big things I did to it was chop about 3/4" off the limb tips and re-shaped the grip to a deeper, low wrist grip which I really like.

Mine's a 50#'er btw.

Its nothing special, but the thing I really like about it is that I can beat it around. I'll toss it on the ground, use it to push through brush, etc. If this thing ever fails I'll probably just buy another. I love rugged bows!

I like mine just fine. I shoot that exact bow. I recommend a good wrap though. The back of the handle has sharp square edges. They can dig into your fingers. If they are wrapped (rounded) its no problem at all.
