Title: Stotler GAME BUSTER???
Post by: New to Traditional on June 29, 2008, 10:30:00 PM
Just bought one of these from a friend. She's 66" and 55@28".Looks to be a little older and has some marks and sciffs from use.I KNOW I've heard of these bows and the design appears to look like the same design as the man who writes "Tips from an Old Timer" for TBM shoots.String was shot and brace all wrong so I only shot her a little tonight but she seemed pretty quick.I guess want I'm askin' for is info. on these bows. And wether I paid a good price($150).

I appreciate any and all help,
Ethan

That is a great price, that are fine bows.I had one a few years back and would not pass up on a good buy like the one you got.

Thats a great price. They were originally made by Stotler who was associated with Howard Hill. Then built by another bowyer,Dishion i believe and once again are being built by a new bowyer.I had a Gamebuster and a Gamegetter elite. The Gamegetter Elite had carbon in the limbs.63 and 66 inch lenghts. Also make a unique 3 piece design that has the look of a 1 piece when assembled.

The Stotlers also made the Medalist reacurve and Medalist elite. The Gamebusters and Gamegetters have a unique look and design with thier wider limbs and bigger risers with good mass. They are still being built and the ones I have seen in pics look very nice.Hope that helps.

Ethan,
You didn't pay too much at all. I've been shooting Stotler Game Busters for about a year now and love them, all of mine are 63". They are indeed quick bows and great shooters.

Those were one of the first custom bows i had made...i still have 3 of them & one in the take down version.  If that bow is in good shape, $150 was a "steal"!

She's actually in pretty good shape what looked like a lot of sciffs was really just residue stuck to it.Any ideas on a good way to clean a bow up(cleaners).Oh,and with those fat limbs should I be ordering a recurve string for the larger loop or a longbow string?

Thanks,
Ethan

Talk to one of the custom string makers & they can fix you up. Tell them what kind of bow you have & they can take it from there.  i use minwax occassional on my limbs.
