Are there any of you tradgangers out there who use Lunar charts to plan around your hunts? I read about this in Byron Fergusons book "Become The Arrow". It makes sense to me. When I lived in Alaska, I used tide books to plan my Halibut fishing trips and it made a world of difference. The tides coincide with the moon. I would literally catch a halibut every time my bait hit the bottom. It made for an exhausting day but well worth it.
I hunt when I can without regard to the moon. For me, that means weekends and semi-frequent days off when the weather seems ok.
However, I do look at the moon charts to get a feel for how optimistic I ought to be - heh. Honestly, if moonrise or set is going to occur at a time when I normally start getting squirrely and when my thoughts normally turn towards lunch, then I'll tend to try to hang out a bit longer. You never know, game moves when it wants to and if their movement is tied to the ramblings of the moon - well that's an additional piece of info I can carry with me into the field.
