How many Michigan bowhunters here have seen an albino deer while hunting? I have seen a couple of pie-balds, but never an albino. Jim
I'm glad they lifted that silly ban. Deer is a deer no matter the color, unless the white ones poop gold nuggets and fart rainbows. :bigsmyl:
i have often wondered why theyd want to protect them....youd think theyd want to eliminate that gene being passed on. albino der have a higher incident of blindness
Congrats to Michigan for lifting that ban. It's good to know some States know what to do with their wild life....
its funny how a bunch of so called DNR "biologists" would make the taking of albinos illegal when the fact that they get taken bc they are easier to see and thus dont have the traits to survive and pass on their genes is a fundamental biological principle and all.
Or dont we go by Darwinism these days?
It wasn't the DNR. It was a legislator (can't remember who or where he was from) that got the law passed to protect them many years ago.
The NRC runs the DNR along with legislators. The poor biologists hands are tied in a lot of cases. Sorry to say but our wildlife is managed for people and not for the good of the resource. This latest change is one where they finally listned to the biologists.
amen to that at least
I remember when they did it, there was some albino deer somewhere that tourists were watching along the road, so they wasted the taxpayers dollars to basically protect one deer thats been dead for many decades!
Wow. This changes everything.
