Title: rules for the Muzzy shoot
Post by: bbassi on June 26, 2008, 10:13:00 PM
Are there any formal, written rules for the Muzzy shoot that I can look at? I'm specifically wondering about use of an elevated bear stick on rest and kisser buttons. Any help would be appreciated.

My wife, Laura and I have a wedding to attend that Sat. so we won't be going. We have been at every one for at least ten years or so. As to your question, the only rules are that you must use a recurve or longbow, judo points or grasshoppers, and no sights. There are some guys on occaision that shoot decked out FITA bows minus the sight. If it is your fist time just remember that you cannot bring too many arrows. This is one shoot that will teach you the value of a footed carbon arrow...at least it did for me. You will never have a better time at an archery event as long as you are in fairly good shape. If you shoot well you will be shooting a lot and the course is not on flat ground.

naw, nothing like that Chuck. I'm just debating which bow to shoot. My silvertip is set up with a rest. I'm also thinking about trying a kisser on a morrison I'm shooting to help with anchor consistency. I wouldn't want to get there and have to change my setup on the fly just to be within the rules. Not that I'm going to be any competition for anyone anyway.   "[dntthnk]"

I would give Yvonne at Muzzy a call and ask about your setup. They might consider the rest or kisser a "shooting aid". Better safe than sorry. Her number is 770-387-9300.

BTW, you need to pre-register for the shoot, you can't just show up. The registration packet tells you what you can and can't use.
