Hi Everyone,
I am drawing blanks with choosing a bow case. What works for you? I would like something that is hard, for protection. However I would also like to be able to use it with a strung or unstrung bow. Is that possible to get both? Any advise would be great!
If you want a hard case that you can have you bow strung in look at one of the many two gun rife cases if you bow is short enough. To be honest I have never see a hard case for strung bow. 3 Rivers Archery used to carry what I guess you could call a semi type hard case but it is not airline approved and with what they want to charge for extra bags you would be better off getting a take down case and sticking it in your bag. These are some tube type case for longbows but they are for unstrung bows.
As for strung and unstrung soft cases check out the Kathy Kelly cases.
For traveling check out take down cases by Kathy Kelly or Safari Tuff.
Honestly I have a Kathy Kelly Strung Bow/Quiver case and a T/D recurve case.
I would look at want you need the case for and then decide what is best for you. I have never found a need for a hard case but then again I do not fly with bows very much. Mostly drive and a hard case would eat up space that could be used for other stuff.
Good luck in you search,
CS
I have a one piece bow so a small case would probably not work. I really do not need to fly with it so a soft case would work. I really just want a case to carry it in when it is strung and for storage when it is unstrung.
I would look at the Kathy Kelly cases then. They are well made and you can get the option of keeping your quiver on if you use one.

okay I will look at them! ANyone else want to chime in with opinions?
I have used Neet strung recurve cases for quite some time and have been happy with them. They have a large pocket on the outside that my quiver or gear can be carried in. I just ordered and recieved a Neet strung longbow case last week from 3Rivers. Check out their site.
Take care,
