I have the body of a new back quiver all built and was wondering where the best place is to attach the strap so the quiver rides in the right spot on my back. Any help would be greatly appeciated. Thanks Glenn

Looking at the side of the quiver that will be against your back.
If you want the top of the quiver over your right shoulder, attach it to the right side.
If you want it over your left shoulder attach it to the left.
Pictures Please!!!!!

I like the top strap just about a strap width off center toward the opposite side you are going to carry it. If you are looking at the back and are a right handed shooter move the strap to the left.
The bottom strap is the hardest for me to get right when I make them I usually clamp it where I think it goes and adjust from there. It will end up somewhere on the right side near the edge or wrapping around the edge.
Need some pics when you finish it.

Thanks guys I will post some pics when I get it completed, hopefuly tonight. I made my son one last year for Xmas but it tends to ride to low on the shoulder and he has a hard time reaching his arrows. (Note to self get that fixed for him)

In the course of moving, walking, etc. the quiver will normaly slip lower on your shoulder.(which can be a good thing when moving through heavy cover.)
What you need to perfect is the "back quiver bump".
You use the elbow of your bow arm to "bump" the bottom of your quiver up so your arrows are in easy reach. :archer:

This is exactly the reason I move the top strap off center. It helps keep them in reach when it does slide down.

Here are a few I could find quickly that show the attachment of the straps.

I did not get the strap on last night but I did get a few pics of my new quiver and the one I built for my son.
This is the one I am working on 3-5 oz Veg. tanned cowhide. I dyed it with an ML Cambell micronton dye and then added the bear hide collar.

By folding the hide down inside the quiver 6" it really keeps the arrows from moving around.

This is the one I made for my son. It was a really thin piece of leather so i added a piece of automotive carpet to the inside to give it some structure. The collar and knife sheath is from a whitetail hide.

To keep the quiver up, I find connecting the top strap a few inches down helps. Give it a try, good luck...
