I shoot a check-mate thunderbird that is 45# at my drawlength of 26". I cut my shafts to 27 1/2" BOP and would like an overall arrow weight of around 500gr.
I am looking for suggestions on suitable carbon shafts that I won't have to take out a 2nd mortgage for.
Thanks

I have about the same set-up and the only carbons I have gotten to work are Easton Epic 600's. They are a good deal for a dozen shafts thru 3 Rivers. Don't know if anyone else carries them. With 5" feathers and wraps and cut to 27" they only weigh about 225 grains, but I am using 200 grain tips on them. They fly great! You could add some weight inside the tube if you wanted.
Arrow Dynamics Trad Lite (tapered shafts) with 100 gr brass inserts. Raptor Archery has them in black and wood grain finishes, and has the inserts.
