After thinking about retiring and moving to a nicer climate than SW Michigan. I thought hey why wait I may not live that long. So I rented a 22' truck and trailer, packed my stuff and headed out. Ended up where for the last 10 years I thought I wanted to be. Arizona! I am temporarily in Glendale but will end up in Prescott. Just spent the last 4 days there learning the town and looking for work. My first stop in town was to meet our own Chortdraw. Great choice on my part :D Dale is a super nice guy with a hugh talent. For those of you who do not know him, he is a super talented but retired wood carver. That just also makes a super fine looking longbow. I now have to sweet talk him into making me a lefty. :readit:
A big thanks to Tradgang, I got into town and had friends to shoot with and enjoy time with  It just don't get any better than that!
Brent

Dana is another recent resident of the Arizona territory's. A finish carpenter by trade and as usually a joy to spend the day with on the range. Oh did I mention another lefty! :D
Hope you packed the sun tan lotion ;)
Brent, Looks like a nice place to spend some time. My son graduated from Prescott College and I really enjoyed that area too...Doc
Brent, glad you found another hunting grounds complete with pals. Nice new residence (tent with chair) and fine looking weather. Priorities look intact after the move - shoot arrows, then look for a job.
Now that's what I call a change in scenery! Pretty cool to move half way across the country and have freinds waiting to shoot bows with too. I'll be waiting for updates as you explore your new digs!
Brent...missed you at Compton but I can see you been busy. Hope you get all settled in soon and watch out for the snakes...there's a few more around than what you're use to seeing in Michigan. :scared:
Brent, good luck buddy and hope all goes well for you. You will be missed up here in Michigan that is for sure!! Talk to you soon.
Tim
Looks like you were camped over in the Granite Basin area. I live in Prescott Valley, ,drop me an email when you head up this way---1Longbow
Rob I bought a bunch of SPF 50 cause I toast like a crispy critter! So I'm covered so to speak :D Jeff & Joe glad to hear you had a great bear hunt. Can't wait for all the stories, I just got hooked up on line here last night. So I'm behind whats been happen online here at home! Dick and Tim I had thoughts of all the fun I was missing at Comptons. It was on my mind all weekend. I hear you had great weather for the shoot this year :bigsmyl: Steve I will send ya a PM so we can connect.
Brent
Looks like a road trip to Arizona may be in order sometime after you get settled in!! I am sure a few of us northeners could split gas and come for a visit!!
Brent,
Sorry I missed your call at Compton's, we had a few cold ones for you. I did not get your message until I got home as I was trying not to turn the blackberry on at all. Looks like your havinf fun already. Talk to you soon.
Brent, Good to hear from you! I was wondering how the move was going. Good to see you're still alive and kickin'! :archer:

Dave I had visions of the fine dinning & ice cold beer's. After a nice day on the range at Comptons. I was really disappointed in missing that!
Larry do you ever leave Texas :D of course I'm a lot closer to Tejas now. Maybe get a little more hog hunting in now!!
Well, dang! Now you have gone and made me jealous. I'm looking at three more years before we can pull up stakes and move! Seriously, best of luck to you. (But I'm still jealous.)
John
Hey Brent great to hear your doing good, once you get setteld I might have to hook up with Tim's road trip when he comes down to see you!
Good to see you doing well Brent. Give me a call when you get a bit more settled.
Hey Brent, good to see you've arrived. Great chattin with you awhile back. You were right, Comptons was a blast. My wife and kids loved it too.
Hey Brent, sure good to see you still have your priorities in order!
Glad to hear you're making the transition "to the south" with no problem, I'm sure you'll be all "tanned-up" and ready to roam in no time.
I think the area from Prescott up to Flagstaff is some of the most interesting in AZ, especially the Oak Creek Canyon country.
Take care, stay safe and shoot straight. Also, best of luck in the new environment.

Well you guys in MI did loose a good archer from your group but we will try to see if we can make him happy here in AZ. Sure was great to meet Brent and get to shoot with him and hope he falls in love with Prescott like I have. His knowledge of guns also saved me from making a wrong buy on a pistol at a gun show in Prescott Valley. The place he was camping is in the Granite Dells area near Willow Lake. This one of the more scenic areas this close to the town of Prescott. This is why we live here. I'm sure he will miss all his old friends from home but we will try to make him feel at home in his new (wonderful) environment here in AZ. As far as all that talent he told you about me...He may have stretched that a bit  I think he will enjoy the hunting out here, especially if he can get drawn for a good hunt. Good to have new friends....Chort
Hi guys
Great to hear from you all!! A guy can move location and still not leave his friends. Its been said over and over but that is the best. Along with having friends ya have not even met in person so happy to see you. The world has changed so much. And put us so much closer together with these computers. ( Thanks to Al Gore for inventing the world wide web) :biglaugh: Disclaimer OK his mistake :jumper:
Think I'll be back up this Thursday Dale, ya could air dry a whole buffalo down hear in a matter of minutes. :D
Hi Brent! I've been wondering how things were going with the move. Looks like you found some good folks to spend sometime with! Drop me a pm or email sometime>>>>-------> Mike
Hi Brent, We are going to the archery range tomorrow but we are going to the gun range on Thur. morning. This range opens at 9 am.and is probably a whole 15 min. from my house  Man life is tough here in Prescott!! When you get that buffalo dried you can bring some of that jerky up the hill. I heard on the TV that the humidity was clear up to 10% :bigsmyl: Even when the dog takes a wiz it never reaches the ground, sort of a Virgo wiz. :biglaugh: ....Chort
Whoa when did you decide to do that??? Have fun down there brother!
Good to hear from you again Brent....best of luck in your new location!!
Glad to hear you made it there safe and sound, well, safe anyways. :wavey:
You're gonna be missed around here, but now I might have a chance at league night.
If you need anything from the ole'neighborhood give us a shot.
looks like you are settled in already and having fun way to go brent!! :campfire:
Good to see you made the trip safe and sound. Well, forget I said "sound". :D
I used to live on the north side of Mingus Mountain from you. I lived between Cottonwood and Sedona. I sure miss that country! I sure felt at home there. Only problem is there weren't any pigs there when I was there. Javelina were another story. Be well my friend! CK
Its great to hear from you guys, brings a smile to my face :D I will get a hold of you soon Curtis, ta pick your brain on the area. Be good just to talk to you anyway :bigsmyl: Hope I didn't throw out my TX License
