Title: Endless loop strings
Post by: Bill Skinner on June 20, 2008, 06:28:00 PM
Who makes an endless loop string?  I have Flemish twist strings on my bows, I would like a dacron string that I don't have to keep tweeking.

Chad aka LBR  at

He builds both type strings, and is one of the best.  Bill G.

Not trying to knock myself out of a sale here, but dacron is dacron.  A flemish string will settle in more initially (much less if pre-stretched, but will still settle some), but once shot in that part is done--then it's the stretch/creep factor in the material itself (assuming the string is made properly).

'Course this will vary with the draw weight, number of strands, etc.--but I've never used a dacron string (endless or flemish) that didn't require "tweaking"--especially with a heavier draw weight.

That's one of the reasons I prefer the "high performance" materials--cuts way back on that factor--even with flemish strings.

What Chad said.  All strings, even them big twisty ones made of Dacron, will "settle in" after so many shots - don't matter how the string is crafted.

Aside from the crafting process, the prime difference 'tween Flemish and endless is the twisting - there's very little required for endless, just enuf to round it all off.

LBR, I sent you a PM.  Thank you, Hawksnest, that was exactly what I was looking for.
