It is so cool to be in the house checking emails n stuff, and hear her outside punching the target.
I just got her a new bow about a month ago, and she can't seem to put it down. Shoots at least a hundred shots every time she takes it off the wall. ("just one more round") Music to my ears!!!
That's AWESOME !!!
Ray ;)
What are the specs on her new bow?
You apparently picked the right handle on here...lol.
My wife just rolls her eyes and smirks when I get my bow out or tinker with my arrows. I keep telling her to take a shot, just one shot.
I need my husband to fall in love with the bow and arrow. He probably wishes I would fall in love with golf!
Sarah,
She started with a Ben Pearson 30# that started to crack glass on the limbs. We (her Dad and I) found her a "Sears" 40# 58" on the "Auction Site". I believe it to be made by Indian Archery. Very Quick shoot by a 40# bow. She only draws 26" so it's a little lite. I think she could split bone if need be. More target shooting at the moment.
Yes it is very cool. After years of listening to how much fun my son and I have at shoots and rendezvous My wife decided that she wanted in on the fun. I bought her a Bear Polar 62",35#'s@28" all zebrawood with black glass limbs. That was last summer and she is still shooting it daily.
She has seen some of the beautiful snake skinned bows on here and wants me to put some on here bow now. LOL
Yep, gotta love it when your wife falls in love with your hobby.
b.glass, maybe you should try mixing your hobbies...oh, I know -archery golf !!! :D :wavey:
Great stuff! ;)
My wife doesn't want to shoot, but she's really, really supportive of my interest. She loves to go out to the range and on any nice day will ask if we can. She likes to park under the trees and listen to the birds while I go shoot. She's having hip surgery next month and hopes it will be successful enough that she'll be able to walk some of the nicer courses with me. God bless the good ladies who go beyond just putting up with us are offer positive support or get right in there and participate. Those of us who have 'em are really lucky!
Dick in Seattle
Count me in with the lucky group ! This is her new Chiron Volcano, 40@28 and she shoots it real good. :scared: Very impressive bow for the money.

So great - you all are soooooooooooo lucky. As i've said many times, I'd give most anything if my wife would take up shooting with me.
You guys are so fortunate, I can't put into words how jealous I am.
All I can say is at least my wife doesn't mind a deer hangin in the garage.
Good for you! ;)
I just feel fortunate to have a wife that does not mind my buying, selling, trading, hunting, etc. (...at least, most of the time. )
Archery is how my wife and I met. And yes it is very nice to both enjoy the same sport.
Be carefull what you wish for.... You might just get it...
I talked my 1st wife into going nite time catfishin with me.... She caught all da fish and I was bait boy for 2 yrs.She loved it.. I Hardly ever got to touch a pole....It won't very fun...
I'm afraid If'n I get the next couple (Wives 3-4) into it I might just be hangin stands, guttin, & draggin...
Nothing against women... they are great.Have just as much right to hunt as any man ( except Killy).. But I need time to myself... with min. work...
Now if'n I could find one that would drag her own deer, put up her own stand ect. THAT WOMAN WOULD BE GOLD!!!
My Bride is my best hunting Partner, that is when she can get away from her horse business. She can shoot, drag, field dress, skin, cut up, ice down and help process anything that walks, crawls or flies!
Just wish we could get away together more, during season.
I have posted these before but I'm pretty proud of her. She took both animals on her own...the bear was with a guide but she went up the last three days of the season to close the deal. It's been great sharing it all with her.

Wife loves to shoot, camp in a tent and hunt. She shot her first deer two years ago. After the track she said that she didn't realize how much work the tracking was. We also rode our bicycles across the US, camping 90% of the time in a small two person tent. Those farm girls don't ask for much !!!!!
Great photos of Bill Carlsons wife with her deer and bear. Congrats.
Here's a pic of a group of us, all married couples, at a shoot in Vermont a few weeks ago. I'm not the only lucky guy...there are a few of us.

That is great. My wife doesnt shoot, but is very supportive of my addiction :goldtooth:
My wife Toni was the 01' ND Outdoor 3D Champ. She's as good or better with a bow, shotgun, handgun, or rifle as any man I've hunted or shot with. She's a particularly gifted rifle shot, fully the equal of several of the guys I went through Sniper School with.
She came fully equipped with her own bows, rifles, shotguns, fishing & camping gear, horses, ATV, and 4WD.
Sort of a living Outdoors Barbie... :D
