neat stuff...makes you wonder about the stories...
That is pretty cool. Trees sure are adaptable.
Can you imagine finding that hog skull head high in a tree at dusk!!
Neat pictures, I surveyed for Amoco oil back in mid 70's and found an old saw blade stuck in tree stump evidently they broke the blade and moved up about a foot and cut it down, Also found an old survey that showed a dirt road that was still in use as being a Stage Coach road. Neat stuff out there isn't there?
A buddy of mine used to live in Hawkinsville and I spent many a day chasing hogs in the Ocmulgee area. Good place to run around with a stick and a string.
Man you found those bows just laying there like that? You are sure one lucky fella......
Great pic's...makes you start think about the stories behind them.

Cool find! I saw the boat pic and starting singing the Gilligan's Island theme song. Scary huh?!?!
Thanks Biggie, another ruined keyboard..... Note to self, black coffee hurts when exiting the nose. Solution - use more creamer.....
You been sneaking around in my back yard again?
Love to find old stuff my self. I need to get out and start finding some new soft mast trees! Might take my bow in case them Asian Tiger skeeters get after me.
Sorry Bob!
I've wanted a metal detector for years but my wife thinks it's odd.
I can see me hittin the woods with a bow in the backseat and a metal detector...the metal detector would never get touched anyway
RC-If you find any old home places watch out for those old covered up wells.-Bone
Great stuff! I love finding old stuff like that while hunting! ;)
Thanks for sharing!
nice pics. thanks for posting them.
Nature takes things back given enough time.

The swamp is cool for finding old stuff...you're just more of a man than I to tackle it in the recent heat :notworthy: ....more photos, RC!
Given the title of this thread, I was afraid it was going to be a picture of me..... :biglaugh:

speaking of old things in the swamp...RC will probably recognize this place. He pointed me in this direction on my first Trad Bowhunters of GA hunt over 4 years ago the first time I had met him. Even got on hogs that weekend, just wasn't confident enough to take the shot....still one of my favorite WMA's. Steve
My dad found a piece of brass in the woods once that was shaped really odd. We cleaned it up and found some markings on it. Did a bit of research and it turns out it's a base for a surveying tool that was made in the early 1800's.
Yep I know the place your standing. If you`ll look directly behind you and to the right you`ll see two blackish trees. Persimmons . Early season magic.RC
Found some old wagin wheels in a shallow creek one time. That was neat, far as I know they are still there.

Found this in a GA swamp earlier this year, it was pretty old when it died......

Jeff, you should post some pics of the old tractor at Horse Creek in the swamp.RC
Cool post!
Here's a boat I found once in TX.....

I guess it wasn't worth fixing this old tractor.....probably some nasty old hogs got ahold of the owner when he stalled out and nobody else wanted to suffer the same fate.

You have to wonder what happened to this big fella. Most of the skeleton was nearby.

Cool pics RC. An industrious fella could get some nice homemade anvils right there.
Since we are on the subject of old stuff, I found these turkey hunting in the hills of Mississippi, they are pretty cool.

That looks like Eric the Red's boat!
SOS..is your pic from Paradise? or Horse Creek? looks like a place i use to hunt at Paradise that is about 100 yards from Okmulgee...we called it the Convict Woods because we had some inmates escape up river one summer and they camped on us for several weeks....we found their camp weeks later after the law found them...
