We're a month away and I would like to extend a personal invitation to the entire tradgang family to come join the fun at ATAR 2008 and have a chance to see, handle and even shoot the new Hope & Faith bows. That's right 'EVERYBODY' from the newest member to the largest sponser along with their family and friends are invited. ATAR 2008 is July 11, 12 & 13.
thanks & see ya'll there
:archer:
-
Where is it held? I need directions.
-
Well thanks for the invite.I think I will come. :D
-
hey VA Bowbender! directions can be found on our website at: www.TBSWV.com (http://www.TBSWV.com) or feel free to give me a call, my contact info is also on the website.
glad you're gonna make it James. wouldn't be the same without you.
-
Make sure you take good care of Faith. It's going to be 10 months before I get my hands on her. Have fun and start loading those bows up with some good mojo.
Bill
-
hey Bill! we will treat'em nice and when the ladies leave the beautiful hills of Wild Wonderful Southern West Virginia there will be mojo on them that nobody could ever imagine.
-
Hey, Does the invite extend even to ol' Dinosaur Wranglers too??? ;) :goldtooth:
-
hey Bernie! ATAR without you or the dinosaurs just wouldn't seem right. You are the ATAR kid's best buddy.
-
Ooh! I wanna touch! I wanna touch!
AND shoot one! :campfire:
-
Thank you so much, Danny.
-
Danny, I will be there with my BW & my new Mojo Whisperstik.
-
looking forward to shooting with you again Jim! you can just leave that 'ol BW here with me now that you have a new bow. LOL
-
I will be there again this year.cant wait to try the new bow out.
-
Don't remember nothin in the contract about them bows goin all the way out to West "By Gosh" Virginia. Sounds like a hoot. Wish I was there.
Killee, sure appreciate it if while you was touchin them bows, tell Faith I miss her bad.
-
Hope is thinking evil thoughts, Brent. She always knew that you liked Faith best. I'm afraid this is gonna take a lot of talking through. My rates for this kind of therapy are a bit steep, but well worth it.
Killdeer :archer:
-
Wish I could be there. Can't ask for more pretty country good luck to you all. Oh and thanks danny. Jeff
-
Danny, will be there as well-wouldn't miss it!!!
-
Oh no-oooooooooooooooooooo! Shades of " Dr." Lucy, a la Killdeer :archer: I can see the little booth set up in the campgrond, now. :p
-
We are looking forward to being there. Can I shoot one of them in the wingshooting competition? What are the draw weights of these bows?
We (EFA) have several new products to show at ATAR. We have been working on these for awhile. One of them is ready and will be shown on Tradgang in the next day or so. The other one (which we have been developing for more than 6 months) has been tested and will be ready for market in the the next couple of weeks. Both of these fit in the under 6 ounce (ultra lightweight) limit and are very secure on the bow.
ATAR is one of our favorite events. Great folks, great location, and they put on a great event. Thanks Lonnie, Gene, Bill, and the rest of you guys that do all the hard work.
-
Don, the bows are in the low 50's. Wing shooting? No one said there was going to be wingshooting. How far is it from here anyway? Pete Ward did a review on the Sheepeater and loves his for shooting aerial targets. Short, light, gets on target fast.
Killee, you kinda left me hangin here......hourly rate of???????? I aint too worried about Hope. She's a tough 'ol gal, but one can never be too safe. Go ahead and do your magic and bill me I guess.
-
Well I am not so sure that new bow will out do my BW yet, but I should find out next week when my new one arrives. It maybe hard, I can't put my BW down long enough to shot any other bow. My compound is collecting nothing but dust.
-
hey Brent! you are in trouble now. ya know why??? you just told Killdeer "bill me". you have any idea where she's gonna be performing her magic?? ATAR of all places. to a traditional person that's like being a kid in a candy store. now everytime she sees something new 'UP GOES THE BILL'. LOL
wouldn't it be just awesome if someone won the West Virginia State Wingshooting Championship shooting one of the ladies?
-
That would be cool. Drive up the price for the St. Jude's 2009 auction. More money for the kids.
VA Robinhood, you are asking a lot to out do a Widow. Top notch bows, great company with a wonderful history. You got yourself a fine bow there my friend. I personally never try to "go up against" other companies. I just enjoy what I do, enjoy building bows for hunters and sportsman. That is the reason there are so many fine bows from so many great bowyers. There are so many different in taste, shooting forms, hunting conditions and situations. I am a static recurve guy, that is my thing. It has a place in the industry. There are others that are building great statics. RER, Sovereign, 'Ol Bears.....the list goes on. I got my favorites too, but I think you ought to get a few or so in your hands and experience the wonderful differences each bow and bowyer have to offer. I shoot a ton of other bows every chance I get.
Yeah I might have screwed myself on the "bill me" thing with Killee. But you know, I couldn't help myself. I just love to read her posts. I aint smart enough to know what she says most of the time, but it sure sounds pretty.
-
Ah Brent, there's gotta be some aerial competition. I couldn't stand not getting another crack at it. The law of averages says that it's time for me to be in the thick of it again. As a vendor, it's one of the things I could do with out being away to long.
For moving targets I like a bow that is lightweight and preferably a few pounds heavier then my target bow. A good strong self bow works well. Wouldn't it be wonderful Danny if someone won the aerial shoot with one of the ladies?

Killdeer Mitty, hair floating in the soft July breeze, steps to the line. A hush falls over the crowd and her hapless competitor blanches. The first disk is launched. Languidly nocking a flu-flu, Killy sweeps the bow skyward while drawing the fletch to the corner of her determined mouth. Her fingers leave the string in their travel rearward, and the perfectly launched arrow streaks to the very center of the whirling disk.
POK!
The wounded target tumbles to the greensward like a stricken dove, the falconlike arrow sticking tight in their mingled descent. Disk after disk sails into the deep blue skies above the awestruck throng. Their astonished praises cannot be held back, but they are respectfully hushed. "She's a machine!" they gasp. But to watch the fluidity of her movements, the grace, the style, one could only conclude that this is a divine dance, and no machine could reproduce the nuances displayed here.
Poketapocketapocketa....the disks fall like beads from a Mardi Gras float.
The Sheepeater rests easily in her hand, her quiver is emptied with never a miss. A smile escapes through her eyes and plays reservedly about her lips, and the bowyer will be paying and paying and paying...
Doctor Killdeer :biglaugh:
-
... nd Walter Mitty's direct desendant, no less. Will the miracle revelations of my dear friend, mild mannered (Super) Killie never cease?
Not as long as there are those among us that need mental and pysical (i.e. shooting) healing by proxy.
:notworthy:
-
DANG!!!!! Didn't I tell you. Pretty! Still don't have a clue what she just said.
Killee.........worth every penny.
-
(Permit me for younger members, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" - an old Danny Kaye movie in which he played the master Daydreamer and in every daydream the, "Kapockatapockata...," sound kicked them off and ended them.) Killie has a memory like a "Ef-a-lant", and a knack for turning her memories into delicious, relevant tales.) Is it any wonder I enjoy conversing with her so much?
-
Maybe one of the many vendors there will be selling James Thurber books. :D
Bless you Bernie for getting my jokes! You talk like a cowboy sometimes, but are delightfully culturally literate!
Reckon I'll be moseying off now...
Killdeer :archer:
-
hey Don! Hope or Faith winning the wing shooting would be great. the way that bunch from NC shoot I'm sure one of ya'll could pull off a win using one of the ladies.
maybe we can talk Bernie and/or Killdeer into taking a bunch of pictures of the ladies while they're here. they are both pretty handy with a camera.
-
LOL
(Singing, badly, he rides off into the sunset, "My heros have always been cowboys, and still are it seems .......")
No problems on the pics with either Killie or I, I'm sure, Danny - she's good, I'm lucky - sometimes -
-
thanks Bernie! I know ya'll do a waaay better job than me with the camera.
-
hey ya'll (Killdeer & Bernie)! I'd be glad to get a shot of the two of you holding the ladies at full draw but, one of you will have to be lefthanded for a minute.
-
Bernie, are YOU a switch hitter? :saywhat:
-
I love Walter Mitty! I love Danny Kaye! I'll be at ATAR, God willing. Got my campsite reserved and camp gear catalogued.
-
Be a pleasure to meet you, Talondale (Uh-oh, I hope I haven't already met you - geeze, that get's soooo embarrassing!)
Killie, I can hold a left handed Bow - I can even draw one (about half way) if it ain't over 45# or so, and somebody reminds which is my right ... left ... whichever hand. Not a real switch-hitter though (you snarky little, thing you - ;) )
-
I may be able to pull it once or twice. Just stills, now, no shaky videos!
Chuck missed ATAR las year, wanted ta polish apples or get ejamakated or some such tripe. What site do ya have, Chuckster?
Killdeer :campfire:
-
I sure wish I could attend again this year but my wife is dragging me, kicking and screaming, to a high faluten wedding. I sure had fun last year, I will miss seeing everyone.
Jack
-
Who the heck gets married THIS time of year?
I should save this to cut and paste into threads in the fall, too.
Killdeer
-
13,860 weddings per yr in the twin cities area, thats who !
Carl
-
Wot, all in July?
-
hey Jack! maybe you can talk'em into getting hitched at the lake.
it's really beautiful there that time of year. :biglaugh:
-
Danny, I sure wish I could.
Killy, better now than in the fall. I have seen "bowhunters" get married on the first day of the season. I had to go to a wedding early last Nov. I shot a nice 8 pointer in the morning, hurried home hung him up and cleaned up and left for the wedding.
-
Heehee!
Bet the groom was jealous!
Killdeer :biglaugh:
-
Killy,
I'm at #12 so it sounds like Mr. Bernsie and I will be neighborly like.
-
Make sure he doesn't stay up too late partying...makes him cranky in the morning. I'll be about seven sites down the road.
Killdeer
-
Sounds, Good, Talondale. Hope the "Dancing Girls" won't bother you. (They always seem to flock to my tent)
-
I hope my twins don't keep you up either.
-
You know, it's funny. Generally speaking, if it's about danger I seem to be a light sleeper. However, when it is just "regular" noise, when I get ready to go to sleep , I go to sleep - LOL
-
Eminently practical and sensible, as always.
I'll bring my hearing protection.
Chief of Security will wake me if the tent is burning or the skunks are getting bold.
Killdeer :campfire:
-
"wake me if the tent is burning or the skunks are getting bold" that's the least of your worries Killdeer.
consider where you're gonna be at and just beware of the banjo music.
:biglaugh:
-
You forget where I hunt for three weeks every fall. They don't bother somebody they think is "tetched". Lemme comb a few spiders out of my hair, make myself presentable, then I'll brew you up some tea!
Killdeer :D
-
hey! I like tea but, you can give the spiders for Bernie. :)
-
Just so's there hain't no Brown Recluses - Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :scared:
-
ttt
-
My, my, my but it's getting close!
-
Well finally started seeing some daylight in my work load.Made my reservations this morning for ATAR so I will be there hell or high water. :D
-
That's good news, James. When I go to a shoot where you are not (like Baltimore), I actually find myself looking around for you and wondering why I haven't seen you yet, until I remember you aren't there.
-
Good grief, I thought you were looking for the facilities!
I need to get at it! I gotta make a new tab, and some more arras, and maybe a new string, and redo the nocks so they fit just right, and glue down that rug rest and andandandand...
Killdeer~getting antsy! :jumper:
-
sounds like someone in need of a hobby.
-
Any more hobbies and I will have to run away from home! :readit:
Killdeer :saywhat:
-
TTT - Time's a tickin'.
-
SOON-very soon!!!!
-
well ya'll! both Hope and Faith are resting here with me getting ready for ATAR. I'm gonna try REALLY hard to get me a groundhog with Hope in the next few days. make for some good stew meat. yummmy
-
Watch 'em, Danny - they like to run down the hole with your arrow!
-
Don't make a mess. :campfire:
-
I think that groundhog knew what was coming because I haven't seen him since Miss Hope arrived. But I'll not give up. Been a while since I had groundhog stew. yummmy
-
well gang' ATAR 2008 is almost here. hope to see LOT'S of you there.
travel safe
Danny
-
I'm afraid I'm going to miss you all this year. Just a little too much time spent doing important things away from my side jobs and my home jobs. I'll need to get caught up before I can play again.
Danny, I'll see Hope in November, save a little MOJO for me!
-
I am saddened by that, Kenny, I was looking forward to seeing you again. Family comes first, and you are doing the honorable thing, but I am going to quietly retire from the keyboard for a moment and throw a hissy fit.
Killdeer~looking for the 'jumping up and down and cussing' icon.
-
I heard that.
Connie was looking forward to meeting you, and I was looking forward to shooting a course or two with you. This episode with Adam and the hospital the last week has put a damper on things a bit. I'm still going to ETAR, but that's only because I've got riders to share the gas, and it's a week later so I can meet a deadline I promised. DANG WORK ANYHOW! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
-
sorry you can't make it Kenny! we'll put some good 'ol southern WV mojo on Miss Hope for you.
Killdeer! I sure hope you get over that hissy fit before Friday. :archer:
-
That won't matter, Danny - Killie can conjur one of those up in a heartbeat, just any ol' time - if pushed - :D
Man I am so ready (well, I don't mean my "stuff" is ready - but I am). Sorry you and the family won't be making it, Kenny. Hope Adam doesn't have any set backs and that you get to see light soon. Take care.
Looking forward to seeing all the rest of you, once again. Gotta go get my big box packed - now where the heck did I put that - it's not that small! Oh yeah, I remember it's what I put Killie's field points in - wait that doesn't help with where it is .............. :knothead: Maybe it's under the latest pile of shavings ........ I'll find it - :banghead: ;)
-
I'll be there Thursday, and if I am still hissing a fit, I guarantee there won't be a bear within twenty miles of the park. Bears are smart.
Bernie, better find those points, or no trade. I know where all the stuff I'm bringing YOU is.
I gotta pack!
Killdeer
-
It seems I'll be doing more good not being there than I would have had I come.
Kenny........In charge of Critter Control by sending Kathy into a hissy :bigsmyl:
