Post by: Greg Sz. on June 12, 2008, 10:27:00 AM
Bought some older 3d targets from my club and decided to spruce up my backyard   :bigsmyl:

That's a good start...

Those "older" targets look better than our club's best targets.

Very nice!  Don't let any of Fairfax County's finest see you shooting at them though since shooting a bow in your back yard isn't legal in the county.  I always thought that was dumb since you can hunt in Fairfax County, but there are lot size limitations on that.

Stinger...

There are small DEVELOPMENTS here in this county up North that have similar rules...you're "not aloowed to launch any projectile" to cover bb guns, archery, etc...

It's something I think the developer of these small housing areas put in called a "covenance?" if it's spelled right.

I'd go around and start filing complaints on people throwing ball and frisbie if I lived there...that is just plain STUUOOPID  :)

Nice targets! However, one glancing shot off the back and your gonna land an arra in someone's pool or their kid. They might take offence with that. Consider a nice pressure treated wood backstop just to be on safe side. Have fun.

I plan on building a woodback stop as I found out all that vegetation behind my targets is poison ivy    and it eats arrows like no other(lost two arrows in the span of 10 min  :banghead:    :banghead:  )

not allowed to launch any projectile? That must make football and baseball games pretty dull !

Brian you have to remember that I live near DC aka home of all the lawyers in the world( no offense to those of you lawyers who hunt) that are heck bent on making everything more difficult to do and having more paperwork to fill out to do things as that is how bureaucracy works.

But yeah back to my ornaments... I am going to have to take care of all that shrubbery cause I keep under shooting the deer and bear... More poison ivy all over me!! Yeaaaaaaaaa! Just what I want!!! (sarcasm evident enough?    )
