Title: let's see your assenheimers
Post by: thumper15 on June 10, 2008, 04:36:00 PM
I'm planning on ordering one this summer, so I'd like to see what you all have had built by assenheimer as well as opinions on them.

awesome bows, have two 62" @ 54#, and a 60" @ 56#.  Smooth as they get, quick, quiet and very forgiving.   Wouldn't trade them for anything but another Assenheimer.  Can't go wrong with them.

I'll be ordering one soon as well-I talked with Don's wife on the phone yesterday. Sounds like Don is now taking orders for 2009.

OK- Here's mine -Both high wrist gripped-1 smaller grip, which I gave to my daughters and had Don build some 28lb@26" Cherry limbs-the other has really figured Yew limbs. Shot a nice 8 pointer in northern Wisconsin the first week of November '07 with the small grip riser and the 60lb Yew limbs-see last pic-OK....yes! it was strapped to the back of my Jetta-the wife and I were fighting so I couldn't use the Tahoe!

I have owned and shot Assenheimer bows since 1985. I'm still hunting with the original bow and have purchased one other Assenheimer bow. I have sold ten bows for Don by just letting other people shoot mine. Great bow and you will love it.........

curlis, those photos really helped.

fred, yours too

my main concern is the grip since it's hard to get an idea of how a grip might fit your hand just from pics. but from the recurves i've shot I can can get an idea by shape, like ones narrow at the thumb but wide in the palm and so on and so on. thanks guys
