This question concers Hunting footwear....
What can you guys tell me about the Redback & Blundstones slip on boots....
Is there a big differance between the two, which of the two do you guys recomend....
Blundstones in my book, Mike. Redbacks are a cheaper version that might not have the same quality. Blundstone slip-ons are a good boot for sure, and you can slip them off faster when you go in for the final stalk. However, for hunting in swamps with thick, gloopy mud, I wear lace-ups, so as not to have the boots sucked off my feet. I find slip-ons excellent for desert hunting.
I'm not an Aussie. And I haven't tried the Blundstones...but I have been wearing Redbacks for about 10 years and compared to other options hear in the states...they can't be beat for comfort or wear.
JMHO
May try some Blundstones, though.

Yeh I 2nd just what Ben said.
Red Backs are the cheapies. The Blundstones are well made and are a good work/outdoors boot, just not good in some areas like water. Just don't get a set of steel caps and you'll do OK.
AK.
Im with Ben also.
Blundstones are the better. But I hear they are going to be made offshore soon no longer ib Oz. They are better than Redback but like any slip on they have their limitations. I don't like the sole in the wet or high country grasses no grip.Great around the camp and doing some work in. They do make a lace up. I like more support when i'm on a hill or mountain side.

Yep same here Tony i like a little more ankle support myself. I have a pair of Aussie terra combat boots made out of kangaroo i like to wear while hunting mainly because they are free.
I just read on the web that Blundstones are now made in Thailand.....?
Redbacks still made in Australia.
I wear the Blundstones daily for work, very comfortable when you get used to the fit.
I too have to concur with the lads from Down-Under. I have found the Blundstones to be far superior to the Redbacks! Just a very good comfortable all-round boot.
I agree with Ben though - in mud you do need lace boots.

I have always wanted to wear slip on boots but because of a wide foot and high arch [ dragging knuckles as well I'm reminded regular by mates ]I can't get my foot in them . The Redbacks years ago when I tried them where a top quality boot [ riding boot with a zip up the side and a low heel ]but a slimmer fit than the Blundstone which with a lot of stretching with a boot last and wearing around while soaking wet I could get my foot into . The Redbacks I've seen today are not a patch on what was , same with the Blundstones.
Blundstones slip on's are a industrial boot that got trendy in my veiw and 2 heavy and hard of sole for wandering around the scrub for hours . Find a lighter more flexible soled lace up boot in there range .
