I'm planning on making a trip to Colorado for elk hopefully next year. I figured you all would be the ones to ask since it's on traditional hunting. Anyone had good luck with a particular guide in Colorado? Best bang for the buck? Any recommendations would certainly help since most seem to cater more to bows with training wheels.
Never hunted with him but you might try contacting Fred Eichler.

I've elk hunted in Colorado seven or eight times but they were all DIY type hunts and it's been years since the last time I was there.
I agree, try Fred Eichler

Mike Murphy, T-Bar-M Outfitters out of Durango (970/259-5469) and his lead-guide son Danny, both are lifelong trad bowhunters and run a clean tight operation. At least a couple of Tradgangers have hunted with him before and may show up on this thread. I guided for him for years before I got too old. His main camp is about a one-hour horse ride into CO's biggest roadless area, now recommended for wilderness. Nice big wall tents, great food, and Mike doesn't put up with fools or troublemakers in camp. Unless spiking out, daily hunts are from camp on foot, with horses for meat retrieval. If he can get enough trads together the same week, he tries to put together all-trad camps. He has a new website, but I don't know the addy. Worth checking out. Dave
I found www.barhoutfitters.com (http://www.barhoutfitters.com) which is Randy Horne's website.
Call Mark at Bowhunting Safari Consultants. He can get you in touch with good professional guides.
