Here's some pics of a Zona Custom T/D Recurve that is being built for me. The riser is Bocote and Bloodwood with two mosaics of Maple and I'm not sure what the other woods are. All that remains is final sanding and application of the finish. I had the bowyer change the grip from a high wrist to a medium wrist. The bow is 62" and 46#@28".

Very nice looking bow! I'm sure you're going to love it! Have fun! ;)
Leopard,
Thanks, I will! ;) :D
Bill
Really nice. What's the bow next to it?
Brian
thats another zona bein made by bill
Wildman, I love the wood combos you chose. It's amazing the progress Bill has made since he built mine. The lines are sooo smoooooth on the limb transitions. I can't wait to save up and order my next one.
Horatio, That other bow is a Zona L/B in the early stages. It is Bill's original one piece longbow design. I hope to have one just like it soon.
Too bad she'll be up for sale shortly. Atleast that's what seems to happen to most of your much anticipated bows. It is a very nice looking bow though. The bowyer must know what he's doing.

Mike,
Maybe, maybe not. I have gone through a few bows over the past 7+ years. And some very nice bows at that. Time will tell the tale on this one, won't it!?
Bill
geesh mikecc that seemed to be a bit rude, unless you forgot the 'lol'.
looks like a nice bow there bill; i bet your excited. have you shot a zona bow before?
Do not see any pics, only little red x's
Danny
Joe,
No, I haven't shot one yet. Don't be too hard on Mike, he's just stating the reality of the history of my bow buying/trading/selling history! ;) :D
Danny,
I don't use photobucket, I use ImageCave for my pictures. I'll try loading them in photobucket or webshots and send a link to you.
Bill
Danny,
You have a PM.

For those who may be having the same problem as Danny, below is a link to see the pics:

Nice looking bow Bill. I hope it shoots as good as it looks and if it don't work for you ... oh well. I've gone through some bows in the last couple of years too. Some I wish I still had and some I loathed that worked great for someone else. Just like hunting, the journey is most of the fun. At any rate, enjoy the sweet anticipation of knowing you got a real looker coming. You always seem to pioneer the new and unique.
Very nice
Bill knows I'm just kidding around. I would never be too rude to a fellow bow collector. Lord knows I have the same affliction from time to time.
Below are some pics of my finished Zona T/D recurve. It will be shipped to me on Monday.

Good lookin bow! Some nice work there.
Sweet looking bow Bill!
Bill,
Nice looking bow. I know how it is going through bows. LOL I could not tell you how many I have tried and sold or traded over the years. Some I too wish I still had. Some I am glad someone found pleasure in. It takes a while to find something that fits and besides when you have the additction like we do, you just cannot help yourself. LOL
Donald
P.S does the bowyer have a wesite?
Donald,
Yes
Thanks!
Bill
I'll be setting my new Zona up for shooting next weekend.
Bill
That's a beauty...There's a bunch of work in that one.
David
My new Zona T/D recurve has been shipped and should arrive at the Archery Shop Thursday. I'll pick it up Saturday, set it up and shoot it. A bow report will follow! :)
Bill
Bill, Please do not put up the website again, you know better than that....links to non-sponsors aren't allowed.
You can do so with a PM.....
Holy Moly!!! that is real purdy!!
I picked my Zona up at the Archery Shop Saturday, set it up and shot it for about an hour and a half. The bow shoots every bit as well as it looks.
I was shooting Carbon Express Terminator 4560s with 3 gr/in weight tubes, 3" feathers and 100 gr points up front. The arrows weigh 500-502 gr. My 46#@28" Zona spit the arrows out very quiet, very quick, totally shock free and consistently accurate.
I put this bow on a par with the Dale Stahl T/D recurves and Marriah Thermal T/D recurves (by Ric Anderson) that I have owned and shot. Those two bows and the new Zona would be the top three recurves I've owned. I have a new Thermal on order and should be receiving it latter this Summer or in the Fall.
Bill
This bow is definitely a great shooting bow. And at $400 + $25 shipping it is a great bargain, too, for a T/D recurve.
Bill
Bill,
When did you order your Thermal? I ordered mine in Oct 07? Hopefully, should be done in a few months. I can't wait/ I got Mercassar ebony and cocobolo handle with bamboo limbs. Ken

Ken,
I originally ordered in July '07. But then when I got back from IL last Nov I was so frustrated over a shot I missed that I sold all of my trad bows, bought a Hoyt compound and contacted Ric and told him I wanted to cancel the order and he could keep the deposit and money I had sent. I think I contacted him again in January to get back on his list. It may actually be later than I think before I receive it.
My riser will be Macassar and Bocote and the limbs will be Actionboo lams with Bocote veneers. I left the rest of the wood choices for accents, wedges, etc. up to Ric and his artistry.
Bill
Bill - what happened to the compound? Why did you switch back to trad again??
sutto
Hey Bill, how about some chronograph numbers for your new bow??

Sutto,
I still have the compound, but I just love shooting trad bows. You can take the trad bow out of a man's hands, but you can't take the trad out of the man. ;) :)

Dean,
If I make it to the Archery Shop on Saturday, I'll shoot it through the chrony. It may be tough to find the time to make it Saturday though. Our daughter, her husband and their four children are moving in with us this coming weekend for about 10 weeks while their new home is being built.
Bill
Did you get a chance to shoot through the chronograph? If not, do you have a sense for the performance of the bow? I ask as I want to order one - and would like to get some peformance info first.
Thanks,
Jim
