The Dryad "glass blank" . very little work to do on the bow on your part. Best deal going on a reflex/deflex longbow. You pay about 250.00 for a 550.00 bow! Mine is the best shooting bow that I have owned to date..Ya can't go wrong with this one....Terry
I'll second OCB1 on the Dryad glass blanks. Very well done, smooth drawing bows.
For $250, you will have a hard time getting better, unless your willing to lay out a lot more cash.
Mike and Jason have a great product, for a VERY good price.
anyone else besides Dryad offering a glass bow blank?
Look for a used bow. That way you might find a "formerly $500 bow" for $200 - $300.
There are many great bows out there. The choice between what is the "best" (for you) very often lies in your hands and your shooting style and not as much with the bow itself. Very difficult for someone to recommend a bow cause you are different than me.
It is recommended often in TradGang and I pass on that recommendation.... try to visit shops or shoots and touch / shoot as many bows as you can so you can get a better picture of what YOU like.

my first longbow was a PSE legacy longbow that cost me $205, not the prettiest bow but it shot well and was a fine bow to learn on.
What ChuckC said. Keep your eyes on the classifieds.

I have heard very good things about Quinn Archery recurves. Depending on model @ $250-$325.
How about old reliable Bear Montana
Look for a used one. I have found some sweet shooters for $300 and under. You can get bows tghat once sold for 6,7 hundred dollars for $300 or so. 7 Lakes makes a sweet glass bow blank for well under $300 and they are some of the best shooters out there, they are fairly quick for a mild R/D and they are about the quietest bows out there. Shawn
As others have said, look for a used one or go with Dryad blank. I'm working on my first Dryad blank right now and the video gives cler direction. It takes a minimum of hnd tools to complete and as long as you take your time and do not try to rush through it you will be fine.
This is EASY, the best one is the one you build yourself. NO other bow gives you the satisfaction as a self made.
The Lefty I have ....Liberty longbow
Set up camp over on the classifieds for a while. Like Shawn said, you can get some lightly used custom bows that were once twice as much $$ for the range you are looking to spend. Many good deals to be had there.
Yup, go USED or the do-it-yourself route. You'll save a bunch of cash and still get a fantastic bow.
i might have to contact the Dryad guys i think there like 15 miles from my house. thanks to everyone for the info
Donald,
Give us a call and stop by and shoot some bows. Heck you can pick up one of our WindTalker glass blanks and trick it out pretty nice for $300. As close as you are, you could come by and finish it here with a little instruction thrown in.
Mike and Jason
wow thanks guys i will be stopping ill give yall a call next week

I'm glad that I don't live that close to Mike- I'd be more broke than I already am! You are in good hands and you'll have a bow that you are very proud of.....Terry
