I know this isn't 100% archery related, but it's probably 99% flint knapping related.
Does anyone have an example of one? I'm trying to determine if what I have is an ancient tapping stone for flint knapping. It's less than 2 inches in diameter, nearly perfectly round, smooth and made of a white stone, possibly chert or marble. It was picked up by my Mother in the desert Southwest near the Grand Canyon during a desert walk.

Never heard of a tapping stone. Hammerstone is used in knapping although the one you have may be a bit small. Check with a web site called Paleo Planet. It about 90 % knapping. There is an archeological site and someone there will tell you what you have, hope this helps.
Thanks
