Could you let me know how the new Bear kodiak mag bows compare to the ones made in the 1960's and 70's as I am thinking of buying one and would have to import to the U.K.

I had an 07' model which I sold as it didn't fit my pistol. It was 55#@28", which I drew to 28.5". It began to stack as soon as I drew past 28". With a 550 grain arrow it chronographed 179FPS. Not particularly easy to shoot well, but a really nice little bow...
Thanks for the info, but was this a Mag or a Super mag, as I have heard super mags tend to stack.

Old Dog, most seem to stack and that gives you a lot of finger pinch the farther back you pull it.
My mid 70's K-mag will get to 29" without stacking (I draw almost that) but I think past that it will .Kip
I have shot many old and new K Mags and Super Mags.
I have pulled them on scale to measure stacking. If you pull 29" you get about 1-1.5 lb more in that inch between 28-29" draw.
The old and the new ones both shoot similar speeds in chronograph.
Finger pinch- yes, as in most short bows. Finger will get use to it, but I added a thin aluminum liner to the inside of my shooting glove, all pinch and pain stopped.
I have learned the hard way, do not shoot arrows that are too light. Short limbs, long draw and light arrows will result in limb failure.
Finger pinch will be an issues past 27"s if ya have even medium sized hands. It is tough to be as accurate with a short bow that has FP and they are finicky. The newer ones are no where near as nice as the older ones. The craftmanship is not as good in the finished product. Find an older 60s or early 70's bow, or better yet buy an RER Arroyo 54"s static limb design, no stack and no finger pinch and shoots like a 60"er. You can buy one for the cost of a new K-Mag as well. Shawn
