Anyone heard of white duck or elk mountain wall tents,,,, any opinions or other recommendations? Looking for a smaller wall tent maybe 4 people or 2 with extra floor space for stove.
Watching this post, as I am considering another tent also. Another option might be Bell Canvas...
You might also look at Kodiak Canvas, I have one of their smaller 10x10 spring bar tents. They have larger models also.
There are tents for general camping, four seasons, wall tents and tepee tents. Some are made for small stove and others are not. Seek advice if you intend to have a small stove in your tent, because tent fires are never good. Depending on the circumstances, you may be left without shelter and that can be miserable. There are tents made for hunting by Davis Tent, White Duck Outdoors, Elk Mountain and others. Some are canvas and the latter by Elk Mtn are synthetic.
Im interested in hearing about all the brands and whats worked for you guys.... my plan is im thinking about buying a tiny piece of land in PA,, something i can put a little dirt driveway into then have a flat spot for a wall tent Id set up for the weekend then take down and pack everything back out. Then of course i can set my wall tent up at archery events that allow camping,, my steel table with camp ovens will match the background... i want a sturdy tent that resists the heavy rains.
Oh,,,, being able to set it up alone is a big plus too because i have the "everyone backs out at the last minute" plague.
At one time I had a canvas wall tent. 10' x 14' as I recall, made by Davis Tent. It was a great tent. I had 1" metal poles. It took up a vast amount of space in the bed of my pickup, and was a bitch to set up alone. I sold it and got a Springbar tent, made here in the USA. Mine is 8 x 10' and one man setup is easy. Very pleased with it. In looking at their website they have bigger tents of the same design.
