Hey all, Tony Rider of Droptine custom bows is building me a 60" Viper.
Going to be shooting Simmons sharks broadheads most likely, maybe VPA 3 blade & Daysix as well.
Looking for likely a 4-5 arrow quiver & I like to be able to bring a judo with me for shots out of the stand.
Which quiver do you like & why?
Most likely shooting the Easton Axis 5mm arrows so grippers to fit that size arrow would be needed.
Any pics would be greatly appreciated!
All of my quivers are Thunderhorns. Some attach at the limb bolts, and the others are their Boa model that wraps around the limb with a locking strap. Both types have worked well & never failed me. Good quality craftsmanship,IMO. They also offer "snugglers" to allow small diameter arrows to fit without slipping.
I've been a fan of Great Northern strap on quivers for many years. Used them on recurve and longbows.

So many excellant quivers!I like a lot of them.
I like the Selway slide on 4 arrow with the rawhide hood.I like the all rubber components top and bottom of the 2 piece quiver.Their strong.solid on the bow and actually can make a bow quieter.Dampening some vibration.Very well made.They have three gripper sizes.
They have a recurve model,longbow model and hybrid longbow model.The slots that slide down the bow are different widths for different width bows at the fadeouts.You would need to measure the width of your bow at the fadeouts to see if yours took the longbow version that narrower or the hybrid that a little wider.Depends on how wide the limbs are on your hybrid.Some are narrower than others.Some wider.
For a bow mounted quiver, in my opinion, you just cant beat the Great Northern. Just can't! Think I've tried about every bow mounted......used to like the Anawakee's (spelling?) strap ons, but those are not made anymore. Those were a bit on the heavy side too, at least the hood was.....but built like a brick ---- house. But so are the Great Northerns .... the the GN's you'll barely know it's on the bow. The kick back models are the ticket for the shorter hybrid longbows. And they offer stack or inline arrow grippers.
If you are open to all options, don't overlook the SafariTuff Arrowmaster (NOT BOW MOUNTED) Tuff as nails, fantastic tubular ish back quiver. Lots of folks here would attest to lovin'those.
Bow mounted = GN.
Any strap on will do. Just decide on how many arrows you want to carry and buy accordingly. I have Eagles Flight for my selfbows because they are light, Great Northers for curves and longbows cause I can move them from bow to bow, BOA when I'm hunting bears(which included deer and hogs here in GA) because it handles 6 arrows.
