Title: Jeffery Special Recurve
Post by: Bill from NJ on July 12, 2026, 03:49:03 PM
Good day Gentlemen.

I purchased a Jeffery Special Recurve 62" 53# serial no. WQ7B156 in the 1990's.

I tried contacting them many years ago, after Owen passed, I never received any reply other than "we Don't make them any more".

My question, if someone here knows, What is the proper Brace height for this model?

I appreciate any information given.

Thank you in advance for any help offered.

Recommended brace hieght on the Jeffrey special recurve in the 62 inch length is 7.5 inches to 8.25 inches.

The sweet for me was 7.75 and or 7 and 3/4 er inches

Your welcome Bill.

You might see a slight difference in where the limbs dampen out and or stop vibrating and its quiet between a quality B-50/B55 string and a quality Fast Flight string.I would try a well made string from both types of materials and see what you like best.A 12 strand B-50 B-55 is a very good all around strand count with that material.

If you try a B-50 or B-55 a 2 bundle,12 strand flemish from a quality string maker that has been pre stretched in the right length is advisable
