ClaudeBot was hitting us 31788 times in the last hour, scanning every single thread and post within our domain. This dropped our usage time to zero.
An "under attack" Cloudflare mode was executed that shut down the attack and restored the system.
In questioning the motive for these bot attacks, aside from any notion of terrorism, one answer might be "welcome to the world of AI", where some rogue AI engine is more than diligent in finding data to answer someone's AI request.
Welcome to the "information age" .... not.
Ouch
Pretty unbelievable. That a little bow hunting website would be the target of such nonsense. :knothead:
If you're having a good time, there's always someone willing to help you get over it..... :banghead:
And we just got hit a 3rd time. :o
Like the Terminator - they just keep going and going.
Sick sons ah bitch they are.
Thanks Rob for all that you do!

There's a lot of talk and buzz about AI nowadays. At work, it's showing up everywhere. I'm a 55 year old accounting guy at a tool store, and it is amazing us. I quite often explain it away ... "It's really just a Google search on steroids". I know it's more multi-dimensional than that, but it does feed off off information that it accesses in the digital domain. Rob, your comment may be spot on. Seems to me that a huge source of data/information like TradGang would be a targeted source for the AI engines.
If it is AI, it just re enforces my opinion of it. I firmly believe that to think. To reason, and try to understand and solve problems. To realize that some things just can't be understood or solved or reasoned away. THAT is what being a human is all about. That, and making more humans I suppose. I enjoy the "good" dopamine hit from doing something that, fail or succeed, was an accomplishment. Even failing, you learn something, think and adapt, and try again. It's called purpose. Without it, you may as well call the game and go crawl in a hole. It of course applies to shooting and hunting "traditionally", but also every aspect of life.
Hang in there.

I read an article this morning that bots now use the internet more than people. It was something like 53% bots, 47% people. The internet as we know it can't continue on like this.
