Title: Evaluating old bows for restoring
Post by: WyomingWhitetail on June 12, 2026, 07:51:17 PM
Just curious if we could get a discussion going on what to look for when evaluating an old bow for soundness. There are obvious things like massive delamination that there is no coming back from. Then there are other things like twisted limbs or small chips in the glass that might be fixable. I see bows online with what appear to be cracks in the glass running the length of the limb, are these a concern to the shoot ability? Thinking I might pick up a few oldies to clean up and shoot, like I need more projects.
