Title: ASL - Self Bow
Post by: Burnsie on June 08, 2026, 02:40:35 PM
This is my take of an ASL longbow in self bow form.  It has the approximate dimensions of the ASL bows I have 68", 48# @ 28"
Straight handle, skinny tips...etc.  I'm not a big snake skin guy, but I wanted to do something different on the back of the bow.  I was thinking about doing some hand painted designs on the back, but I'm not much of an artist.  I decided to try some digital camo fabric? I'm not sure if I'm sold on the look yet?  But it whips an arrow pretty good.  Here's a few pics.

What a great lookin bow! not sold on the camo either but i love it at the same time, exploring patterns that cut of the long line of the bow visually in the woods is an interesting avenue to check out and i just might try myself

Yes it is all Osage - except for a piece of walnut I glued on, to extend/cap the handle.
