Any of you guys recently bought rain gear?
I'd like some recommendations.
I don't like to hunt in rain, (I know who does?) but sometimes you need it when bringing out game, scouting, or fishing for that matter.

I recently bought the Chugach tr rainjacket from Kuiu. The price hurt but highly recommend the gear.
Depends on what I'm doing. For general hunting, backpacking in, or day hunting in areas where I know I'm going to get wet, kuiu gear works well.
If I'm sitting in the pouring rain and not going anywhere...or going into places where I don't have a way out... I still prefer the set (bibs and jacket) of helly Hansen rain gear I bought 25 years ago when I worked on the slope. You just sweat a lot if you're moving.
I have the Sitka rain coat, whatever they call it, and really, really like it. It's the only piece of boutique camo that I own and the only one I plan to own. Mine is in whatever camo is their green, grey, and brown pattern and truth be told I'd prefer a simple solid brown or grey one but I got mine used for half of retail when I needed one.
But, long story short they and GoreTex are partnering to bring the latest and best DWR technology to hunters (mostly for their waterfowl line) and it simply works better than anything else that I know of. I couldn't care less about the camo patterns or name brand this or that but I really enjoy the outdoors and don't like being soaked. Their uninsulated rain coat is really good at keeping you dry and allowing you to breathe as much as you can inside a rain coat so you don't feel like you are wearing a plastic bag for a coat and sweating so much that you may as well not have a rain jacket on at all. It's proven durable for normal field use and packs down small enough to keep in the day pack for if/when needed.
A good old military poncho always worked for me :thumbsup:
It's easy to roll up and put in a pack until needed. When you do? It does the job!!
I don't know what lately is but in 2019 I bit the bullet and bought a sitka rain jacket for a trip to Kodiak Island. It's almost always wet up there and after 5 straight days of wind and rain it kept me dry. It still does today!
Walmart has Frog Togs not the paper like ones but the rubbery ones completely water proof and they breath a little . I wear a fleece jacket over mine and its quite enough for bowhunting . I have more expensive rain gear but it isnt any better the last Frog Togs I bought were a little over $20 a set.

I use the Sitka jacket and pants. They work very well, very quiet. I have killed several deer while wearing them....absolutely quiet when moving and drawing.
