Title: Unknown Bow "Wolverine Products"
Post by: Sandmann on April 20, 2026, 08:21:42 AM
Hello,
Just to introduce myself, I got into archery last year, and like all things I do, it escalated a little, having more bows than can be shot regulary.
I'm reading here a while for research, because of my favor for vintage and custom bows from smaller companies. Got unintentionally some interesting pieces, like a Thunderhorn for Brent Hahn or a Martin ML-15.

But this one drives me nuts, cant find anything about the Bowyer, nor the Brand. It is to well made for a Hobby Bowyer, which made just a handful Bows. So I assume, it's a little older. Does anybody know this company or bowyer?IMG_20260312_210557_493.jpg

Greetings from Bavaria

Congratulations
The bow is by Laszlo Gelecser from Hungary. It was distributed in Germany by "Bavarian Longbow," also known as Ginger, under the pseudonym "Wolverine Products." However, the design is by "Ginger" Rudolf Schmidt. This was in the late 1990s or early 2000s. Therefore, the bow is at least 20 years old!
Greetings Tom

Thank you! The Ginger Design matches with the, for a Recurve, unusual handle. I just don't get the signature, was it used from Laszlo, when he worked for other Bowyers?

Ended up with reading it "L. Hinge",
in combination with Wolverine Products i thought it has to be from the US. Thats why I asked here, just to get a answer from another german🤣

Unfortunately, Laszlo has always worked under pseudonyms. I don't want to make that public, though. The last time I saw him was with Daniel Knur under "Unique Bows," but that was five years ago. He's a very good bowyer! If you need his contact information, send me a PM! (In German :))
