Title: Howard Hill The Man and the Legend - Book
Post by: Flemish Twister on March 27, 2026, 06:05:46 PM
My lovely wife is so thoughtful it is amazing! She found a copy of this book on eBay while looking for something else entirely. She has zero interest in archery other than it keeps me out out her hair, which is important. As a bonus its an author signed copy as well.
Having grown up in Michigan, Fred Bear was the man around these parts. As an adult I was aware of Howard Hill, but not in any real detail. I'm sure the wife probably heard me babbling on about Howard while watching Robin Hood or ??, and thought I might like to read it.
The book is loaded with pictures which are historically interesting and the details of his archery exploits are nothing short of incredible. The 85lb draw weight he routinely shot and 115lbs used on elephant is definitely legendary in my book! Sheesh thats a lot a weight! Been a fun read!
