A friend recently gave me a box full of archery club pins and various belt buckles. It's obvious to see where they came from but I was wondering if anyone might clue me in to why these have the red and white enamel. In a search, I can only find them without the enamel. I thought perhaps it signified a second and third place for the shoot? If so, is it possible to find who won them? The guy who gave them to me didn't know anything about them.
There was an empty plastic case among the bunch with the name Robbie Robinson.
Did you try a Google search? I had some old buckles I tried to ID and Google search gave me some answers.Take a pic in Google Search.
The only Robbie Robinson I know of was a member of The Band a rock group from the 60s and 70s and Bob Dylan's band back in the 60s.
The Bigfoots must be female - :goldtooth:
I lived in Redding and Cottonwood and heard nothing about that club it must be pretty old.
That name, Robbie Robinson sounds familiar. Have you tried looking at old SDA's member lists? I seem to remember him as a target shooter? The only other Robinson's I remember were Don&Gala from D&G Archery. Another source of info might be CBH. I remember those shoots but never made it up there. Just looked at CBH website and that club still has that shoot coming up. The Bigfoot is a "logo". Why the difference in color I don't know.
I have a 2nd place buckle from Redding somewhere I got in 99. I don't remember them being pink, but I could be wrong. I have no idea what I did with it now.
That's was the first shoot I'd ever been to with that many people. It was crazy. I was shooting wheels with fingers then, but noticed the guy in front of me was shooting a long bow and holding for a long time (like 6-8 seconds). He told me he won the world championships the year before in long bow. He told me he'd been dealing with some bad target panic, which is why he held so long. I was a teenager and it was the first time I'd heard of TP. I can see his face, but can't remember if I ever got his name.

I did and only buckles without color come up. That's what got me wondering about these.

I thought about Gala as well, but she doesn't work at Performance Archery any longer, and I don't have contact info for her.
I believe she has passed away? I was awake for an hour last night trying to remember Robbie Robinson. I wonder if he added the color?
I know I didn't "know everyone" but as I think I recall more. I have to realize I was the younger of most of those guys and I am a member of the "80's" age club now.
