Title: Bowhunting Reflections - Steve Gorr
Post by: Ken Taylor on March 05, 2026, 03:55:59 PM
I was wondering if some of you ever watched Steve Gorr's video titled Bowhunting Reflections?

He sent me a full length DVD a few years ago when he was working on it and he has recently put a shortened version of it on YouTube.

I'm not very hi-tech so I don't know how to post the link, but following Steve's instructions I found it easily by simply typing in his name and the name of the video.

I think that it's a very classy down to earth representation of bowhunting, definitely worthwhile watching.

Steve is in his eighties now and still active.

Steve is still at it... he's a great ambassador for our sport!  He's got a channel going with some excellent archery videos on it.  "Bowhunting Reflections" is one of them.

What a treat watching Steve's video ... I hunted Steve's antelope concession on the Smith Sheep Ranch in Wyoming back in the 80's several times. That was a lot of fun and we got to know Steve pretty well. Very fun guy and a great sense of humor. And .... he could shoot a bow !!  :archer2:  Being from Washington I shot several times with him at some of our 3D shoots around the state. I shot my best mule deer with one of his 52" Cascade Magnum bows on a hunt in Idaho.

Absolutely! That and pure bowhunting are wonderful videos! I think there was a blacktail one as well, but I can't remember the name of it. I suggest anyone watch them.

Steve and Fred asked me many years ago to write a review of it .....
Its my fave hunting video . As good a reason as to why we do it than anywhere else .
In the next life , I'm going to sit a campfire with these two ... then Fred and I will get to some stumping
