Title: Holiday in the good old U.S. of A?
Post by: suttoman on May 27, 2008, 05:28:00 AM
Do you lads have a public holiday over there today??  I think I saw something on the news about commemoration day for the military or something (forgive my ignorance, I am not from your continent).

If so, that means I have to wait another day longer for my B/L Elite to arrive - the wait is killing me!$%^&!!

Probably the worst wait I have had to endure thus far.  For this is the first bow ever that I have ordered as a second bow from the same company.  Each of my other bows were from different companies searching for that perfect bow.  However I did have the Lee before in the plain Signature - it was so good I sold it to get the same thing in solid African Rosewood.

I know  how good this baby is going to be - that is why the wait is excrutiating!

Memorial Day weekend, most business & all Govt officev are closed on the following Monday (26th this year).

This is possibly the only Holiday taken seriously by most Americans.  We are all only free because of the lives our service members have sacrificed so that we could be.

Many of us were in the service at some point in our lives, and have a son or daughter serving now.  My Dad and Uncle fought in WWII, there were no wars during my Army years, and my son is a career soldier in the Army.  He is most likely overseas now on his second tour in Afghanistan ( he's been under operational security for several weeks, so out of contact).

Only one extra day on your bow's shipping.  Please take a moment to send off a prayer for the service members, both ours & yours, who have given their all for us...

Thankyou for your thoughtful post Terminator.  I will certainly take a moment to think of all those in your great country who gave their lives.

I am from New Zealand originally and if it were not for the good US Marines and sailors of WWll I would be running around with different shaped eyes.  If it were not for the Americans in the battle of the Coral Seas (they intercepted the Japanese coming down to take over Australia and NZ) - life would not be as I know it now.  Thankyou guys and well done.

I did not mean to sound flippant with this post and forgive me if I did.  In the big scheme of things, waiting another day for a bow is nothing!

Absolutely no offense taken.  Hope your bow shoots great...
