Title: New Bear Mag Riser and Limbs
Post by: Roger Norris on February 16, 2026, 09:58:42 AM
While I was at the Kalamazoo Expo I fell in love with the Bear Mag (A) riser and #3 limbs, in the "Fred Bear Camo"....I have always liked the Mag riser, I still have my Dads from the 70's. The grip is perfect for me, and I was not suprised that it shot really well for me.

Kind disapointed in the string gooves though. They are really sharp on the edges...steel wool?

Otherwise this is going to be a fun bow to hunt with. I fletched up some 400 FMJ's for it, and have 150 grains up front. Arrows are flying like darts. Pics soon.

use a chain saw file very gently, and polish with 220 grit or 320 grit sand paper. Then use steel wool.

What Kirk said X2. I have done a few for folks at the club. Those "imported " bows. It usually starts out "why is my string fraying on the loop"? It got so I kept 220 and 320 grit wet/dry sandpaper in the car. To seal it I used Tru-oil on a Q-tip.
