This is Henry's first ShrewHaven deer. I put him in my favorite treestand, and helped with the trail and drag (a short drag, he is a superb bow shooter). Since this day in November of 2018, we have become great friends. Henry is possibly the most enthusiastic traditional bowshooter I have ever met....I am forever envious of his energy! It was a natural to partner with Henry on the Asbell Legacy Bighorn and Traditional Woodsman Longbow.
I talked to Henry and Tim up in Kalamazoo recently. I have known Tim 30 years but talking to Henry (who I just met)it was like I was talking to and old buddy. He seems like a good down to earth man. Wish him and Tim luck with the Shrew bows..
Henry is certainly passionate about traditional bows and hunting in the United States! Really glad he and Tim are carrying on the Shrew bows legacy. I'll look forward to shooting one of the Asbell Legacy bows too.
I've always enjoyed the content Henry put out about traditional shooting, like the video of Byron Ferguson visiting his shop.
You've also piqued my interest... I've been following your posts about the Asbell recurve, but I haven't heard about the Traditional Woodsman Longbow. Any details to share?
What? A new bow design? Very cool! Nice Deer Henry! Im amazed at the speed of my 40# 54" Shrew..with my 30 draw I've found a long(33-1\2") 400 with 195gr in the front fly exceptionally well...light, easy pointing great in tight areas and in the stand.. I harvested a Turkey with it last spring and managed to take a doe with it last fall..great shorty and for its size, not much pinch..even at 30..The KZoo show was a great time! I went to the Shrew booth and talked with Henry and Tim they are such great guys! I was looking to see if i could try a 60" Super Shrew but diddnt luck out..I guess im gonna get on the long wait train!! My daughters loved the TCATs area and picked up a few goodies. Such a great show!
Henry is indeed an excellent bowyer. Wish I would have the opportunity to cross paths with him.

Not much detail yet.....we have determined the first Traditional Woodsman longbow will be 62 inches, slight reflex/deflex, a locator grip....and the first ones will be in my favorite green glass style.
