I know there's a lot of guys who use recurves and "modern" longbows, but I'm curious if anyone is using more primitive style bows and if they got any photos? like bows you've made yourself, inspired from Indian or African Culture.
Go over to the Bowyers Gallery part of this forum. There are a bunch of guys who love building primitive bows frome staves. You could glean a bunch of info from them.

Through the week I went for look for a mob of goats that have living in some hills near my work. Decided to take my primitive setup. No goats were seen or heard but a bowhike with a primitive kit fully sourced and made from scratch never fails to evoke a feeling of connection to the roots of our species.

Brigalow selfbow. Rawhide string, rabbit fur silencers, bark tanned axis deer hide quiver stitched with rawhide. Bamboo shafts, obsidian points.
This is a sinew backed Osage static recurve I built a few years ago. It pulled 56#@26". The arrows are a mixture of Poplar, laying across the top with Wensel Woodsman and home made trade points and in the home made GFA style quivers are hill cane arrows...
