Got sidetracked for about ten years gun hunting again, lots of life's ups and downs, lost my hunting spot a while back, focused on my teaching and coaching took up most of my attention.....after selling my house I had to dig into my mountain of gear, and came across my bows, took them out and reminisced a bit, focused on guns again but always kept my eyes out for Osage trees and my connection to archery, obsessed as I am with those trees and have memorized the spots I've come across, never built one from my staves I've collected.........and just happened upon an available Osage limbs / riser/ cocobolo upper and grip PSAX 49@28, 62" at BW last night. Well, looks like I have a new one on the way to shoot, so I'm back after a long while. Looking for a good hunting spot/trips again. Anyone recommend an outfitter down here?
Time to relearn arrow tuning....I have an untouched pile of Heritage shafts and wild turkey feathers to finally put to use.
Welcome back.
Can't imagine being out of trad bowhunting that long; hate to even think about it.
But, welcome back.
Looked at my Ironwood PLX I had made for me, date is 2-03!
Welcome back! :wavey:
I just re-picked up the stickbow after a 20 year hiatus in November as well. Rifles will definitely side track you! Haha Shot a lynx with it in November and oddly enough I'm on a flight to Texas with it as we speak for free range Axis and hogs!
As far as outfits, really depends on what you're after but one of my favorite outfits in Texas is Cibolo Creek for aoudad. Great hunt!
Small world......Cibolo has hunts........will give it a look!
Where are you hunting now Nick?
And right on cue ordered another PSAX custom so I guess 2027 will be fun.........Myrtle burl limbs, Shedua riser, no red, 50@28, 62AMO. It will, be sweet. Put my son's name on it. Dug out all my fletching jigs and feather stashes from storage today and I found a ton of wild turkey feather I ground but have not cut. Gotta figure that out now......
