Title: Bow storage
Post by: Iowabowhunter on December 27, 2025, 09:02:51 PM
My "man cave" is about finished!

I need a neat way to safely store my recurve, as it currently sits un-strung on my guest bed.

Would love to see pics!

Sorry no pics from my CP, but I used Cherry dowels, and cut the heads off of sheet metal screws, ground a point, and screwed into the dowel.  Then screw into a standard press-in wall anchor, and you can't see any hardware.

While they don't look at all traditional, I use the Kobalt K Rail system from Lowes.  It's nice to be able to easily slide the support rails to accommodate various size risers, quivers, etc.

ALL my modern laminate wood/synthetic glass/carbon bows are "stored" strung up and hanging off a wall peg in my work shop, ready and waiting to go into service should the need arise at a moment's notice.  :saywhat:

Here's one I built. Works well in tight spaces.

Sometimes my pictures post, sometimes they don't. Anybody know the secret?

Here another DIY version.  I added a small shelf on top for socks and misc stuff.

I give up. It shouldn't have to be this difficult.  :deadhorse:

All of my bows hang vertically from dowels. There are selfbows, sinew, hickory and boo backed bows with my Treadway longbow, the recurve was my first bought Trad bow built by Jeffery's and a R/D style long bow I got in a bow trade here on Trad Gang. A few arrows, shafts and quivers thrown in for good measure.

Here's what I built for my bows.
Don't mind the boxes. We're getting ready to move.
Dave.

I just make my own that rest horizontal.  I can double up with each peg.

I just use curtain rod holders.

But I have a bunch of elk sheds I thought about making something with.
