Title: Old bow for a Old man
Post by: sweet old bill on May 26, 2008, 04:59:00 PM
A buddy of mine gave me a like new Browning backpacker bow II from the mid 60's era. The bows has the limbs  on the backside like the browning Firedrake models, or BW MA III or the checkmate firebird madel. It looks like new, I put a sting on it and it shoots like new.

A few question that someone may be able to answer, was the bow designed by Drake who was a browning bower for several years ?

Also the Bowning bows seem to have inseert into the limb areas for a limb stablizers ? if so, what was the thread size ? 1/4 x 20 is to big ?

What should be the brace height ? it is now 9 1/8 inch, bows makes no noise at this brace ....

my thanks in advance

Bill

The insert were for a quiver,, same one as fit the Wing.. I am guessing 1/4-20 is not to big, but might be the wrong pitch.. Take a limb with you to Ace Hardware and find a bolt that fits.. I am guessing 1/4-28.
