So, I've seen the draw length/limb+riser charts for ILF, and the mfg info for my Bosen longbow limbs (long 62"-17" riser) was not quite as generous; meaning I should keep the long/17 combo for my 28.5" draw length...
Question: If I can draw this bow to 29.5/30" before stacking, do you think it will stack on a 15" riser?

ILF risers for traditional bows are commonly made in 17-21" lengths. Longer than that gets into bare bow categories; shorter gets into experimental categories. If I were interested in a 15" ILF riser, I would want to try one myself before buying, or at least buy from some source that was known to allow returns in case it didn't work out like I expected.
"Experimental". Sounds about right...VPA makes them down to 13" but I don't even like a metal riser below 50 degrees. Actionwood ones on Amazon for roughly $100 without side adjustments(hmmm). Might have to buy one and sell for cheap if it doesn't work out. Probably would need to do some string groove or tiller adjust for centerline.

I build custom ILF risers if you are interested. I actually have a 17" one in stock made from canvas phenolic that has good mass weight to it. It has lateral adjustment set screws. This one doesn't have the rest bushing, or stabilizer bushing, but that could be added. Rattle my cage if you are interested. Kirk

Thanks buddy, I'll keep you in mind. I bought a small handful of various ILF parts over a few years and am getting dialed in before I make a higher end purchase. Riser looks great!
Kirk, your bows are amazing! some of the risers remind me of the Soverign Ballistik, also with the tight radius tips.

Those old Sovereign Ballistic bows were way ahead of their time in performance. I actually shot those bows and patterned my geometry very similar to those limbs for my SS recurve design when i was prototyping. Incredible performance can be had with the right arrow set up. :thumbsup:
I am by no means and expert when it comes to ILF rigs, so I will give just my observations from my own experience. I shoot the same set of medium length ILF limbs on a 19" EXE scream riser and a 13" VP riser, and I don't feel any additional stacking on the shorter riser at my 29" draw. The differences that I do notice other than the increase 2#'s of draw weight are, riser mass, sight window height and finger pinch on the shorter riser due to string angle. In my experience, stacking is more of an effect of limb length and forgiveness, shootability, or whatever you want to call it, is more affected by riser length.
I shoot an Old Mountain Carbon Z 15 inch riser with DAS extra long limbs for 62". I draw a touch over 28 and this setup has zero stack. The limbs are rated on a 17" riser so I get the extra 2 lbs of draw weight out of them. I'm kinda with Lefty on this. I don't think you will notice stacking. You will notice the extra 2 lbs a bit and feel it more in the fingers. At 28.5 I wouldn't necessarily call it pinch just less comfortable vs the 17.
Good to know Lefty; worth a shot on a 100$ riser to even see if I like it. I've changed my finger pressure to maybe 90% middle finger (split), so I think most any length should be ok?? hopeful.
