Title: Viking chair
Post by: howl on November 02, 2025, 10:01:14 AM
The problem I see with this is it'd be heavy. Most ideas you come up with, someone else has already had and run to ground. Is there a lightweight hunting version of this?

I had a couple of those they were ok in a truck camp but yes heavy . I think the advent of the new cheap and comfortable lawn chairs did away with home made chairs .

The Waldrop Pacseat is very close to that.  Folds up flat and you can't get much lighter.

Check out the Sit and Drag seat.  Weighs less than a pound and is smaller than a football.  Straps to a tree.  Or the or the Low down seat from Fanaticoutdoors.com.  It, too, straps to a tree, but provides a larger hammock type seat. Both very light, maneuverable and quick and easy to set up.
